• The Walnut Grove PTA was actively involved in the school, supporting all aspects of teaching and learning and funding educational resources. The PTA sponsored our annual Eaglefest event, cultural arts programs, staff appreciation events, and numerous family events.
• Ms. Amy Otto, 2nd-grade teacher, was selected by her peers as the 2022 - 2023 Teacher of the Year recipient for Walnut Grove Elementary. Ms. Otto was a Gwinnett County Semifinalist.
• Walnut Grove hosted its first-ever International Night, where over 15 countries were represented.
• Walnut Grove implemented the Play2Learn program hosting 20 families.
• Walnut Grove had several students who participated in the GCPS Science Fair. A 3rd-grade student, Carmen V., won for her project at the elementary level.
• Walnut Grove successfully began the implementation of PBIS, which will be fully incorporated schoolwide for the 2023 - 2024 school year.
• Walnut Grove partnered with North Metro Baptist Church in the KIDS HOPE USA mentoring program.
• Walnut Grove’s running club ran a 5k to benefit and raise awareness for Sarcoma, where they helped raise $34k for cancer research.
• Walnut Grove was recognized as a Gwinnett Clean and Beautiful school.
• At the request of students to update the playground, Walnut Grove raised over $20k in its Spring Boosterthon fundraiser.
