  • Pre-K Enrollment 

     

    The GCPS Pre-K Program is accepting online applications for the 2024-25 Pre-K Lottery February 19 through April 12.

    Please note: the lottery closes at 5 p.m. on April 12. 

    The lottery drawing will be held on April 19.

    Please read our Pre-K Enrollment Guidelines and read our Pre-K Lottery FAQs about the lottery process. If you have additional questions, contact the Office of Early Learning and School Readiness at GCPS.EarlyLearning@gcpsk12.org.

  • Family EES Survey

    Each year, to help improve our schools, Gwinnett County Public Schools collects feedback from our families about their school experience. The district will give the Educational Effectiveness Surveys (EES) to get feedback on nine characteristics of high-performing schools.

  • McKendree's Little Learners Academy

    Come learn how to be your child's first and best teacher because home is your child's first school. This 60-minute program is for children ages birth to 5 years with a parent or caregiver. We will engage with you and your children through reading books, singing songs, and playing in centers. We will have our Little Learners Academy on the second Thursday of the month at 5:30 p.m.

    Registration for Kindergarten for the 2023-2024 school year is now open.

  • Early Learning Programs

    Play 2 Learn - is designed for children birth to age 5 and their parents/caregivers. This is a weekly 90 minute program that focuses on building capacity in parents to be their child’s first teacher, exposing children to a high quality school environment, providing social opportunities for children and increasing their access to books and resources.  

    Play 2 Learn @home- is designed for learning without ever leaving the home.  This program provides videos that model for parents great ways to read books and teach concepts in all subject areas using everyday items that can be found in the home.

    Gwinnett Building Babies’ Brains- is a community initiative that provides parents with the information they need to be their child’s first and best teacher. https://buildingbabiesbrains.com/

         The mission of McKendree Elementary School is to be a school that prepares students to accept the challenges of a changing world by arming them with the skills of problem-solving, critical thinking, academic knowledge, and the citizenship attributes of empathy and social conscience that will enable them to become competitive and cooperative citizens.
