    School Highlights

The following school highlights showcase how Moore Middle School is fulfilling Gwinnett County Public School's four strategic priorities of Empathy, Equity, Effectiveness, and Excellence. Visit the School Profile Dashboard to find more detailed data on our school.

    • The Moore Middle’s ATLAS (Alliance to LEAD and SERVE) student members participated in workshops after school throughout the school year. During the workshops, our students learned about self-awareness; communication (self-advocacy); entrepreneurship, and financial literacy through our community partnership with the Zeta Phi Beta Inc Sorority (Sigma Omicron Zeta Chapter). ATLAS members also hosted various school functions and events throughout the year, such as our Spelling Bee Competition and Gear-up Program End of Year Awards.
    • Moore Middle School collaborated with Central Gwinnett High School's National Junior Art Honor Society members to provide a peer-led Visual Art exploration session for first-semester 8th-grade art classes. Our Visual Arts Program also collaborated with our counseling team to provide a targeted Art Therapy session by exploring the pour painting technique. Art Club members had the opportunity to visit the High Museum of Art through the Art Access grant program in February. Our Visual Art program displayed the work of forty-two students at this year's Tapestry Art Show.
    • The Moore Middle Peer Leaders collaborated with Central Gwinnett High School to hold a Peer Leader Conference at Moore Middle School. The students worked together for an all-day workshop to further develop leadership skills aligned to the GCPS Portrait of a Graduate Core Competencies.
    • The Moore Legends Robotics Club participated in the FIRST LEGO League Competition, which focused on collaboration and creativity. The students were required to find a solution to conserve energy in their community; our team focused on converting trash into plasm energy to create safe energy in our community. The Moore Legends finished in 4th place in the regional competition, where more than 25 teams from other schools in the county participated.
    • The Moore Middle School LEO Club (affiliated with the Lawrenceville Lions Club) was recognized by the Lions Club District 18-I for Outstanding Community Service for donating 100 Care Bags at the Georgia Lions State Convention.
    • The Moore Middle School Chorus collaborated with the Jordan Middle Chorus for a joint Fall Concert. Mrs. Spencer (Moore Chorale Director) and Mr. Bryan (Jordan Chorale Director) collaborated virtually and in person with students before the concert. The Moore Middle School Spring Concert was dedicated to one of Moore's charter staff members who passed away unexpectedly in March.
    • The Moore MS orchestra earned Excellent ratings at this year's Large Group Performance Evaluation.
    • Moore Middle School Band earned Superior ratings for the first time in school history at this year's Large Group Performance Evaluation.
    • Moore Middle School was recognized by GCPS and GADOE as a PBIS Distinguished School for the 21-22 school year during the February Board Meeting. Moore Middle was one of eight middle schools statewide to earn the PBIS Distinguished distinction.
    • The Moore Middle Gear Up Program supported 50 students in achieving success this school year. This unique program allows students to complete their 8th-grade school year and earn high school credits in one year. Students who successfully completed the program have been promoted to 10th grade for the upcoming school year.
