• 76% of NGMS students met both benchmarks on the PSAT for Evidence-based Reading and Writing and Math scores; which is over twice the 30% state level average.
• NGMS ranked first in the county for scores on the 6LA, 8LA, 6-8 MA, Physical Science, 8SS, and Algebra Milestones scores, with most score averages ranking NGMS in the top 15 schools at the state level.
• The NGMS Quiz Bowl team ranked 8th overall at the 2023 National Academic Quiz Bowl middle school competition in Chicago.
• Band, Orchestra, and Chorus programs received straight Superior rating at the Large Group Performance Evaluations.
• NGMS Readers Rally team won the division title and participated in the district-level middle school competition. They placed first in the county!
• Our 8th grade drama students won 1st place at the GCPS Dramarama with their production of the musical “James and the Giant Peach” by Roald Dahl.
• An 8th-grade student ranked 3rd place in the state spelling bee competition.
• NGMS held it's first “We are North: Celebrating Culture, Curriculum, and Community” event—families from 18 countries set up cultural displays and participated in performances to highlight their heritage. Staff created academic exhibits spotlighting student work and curriculum topics.
• Six DECA students placed 1st or 2nd in the state-level competition; allowing all these students to compete at the national competition in Orlando.
• One Odyssey of the Mind team competed and placed 8th at the 2023 World Finals.
