Building a learning community of inclusivity, respect and equity 
Every person in our school has a role to play.

Since 2018, Brookwood High School has partnered with the Anit-Defamation League (ADL) to further advance inclusion and engagement within our school and community. We inspire students and staff to become more effecitve allies to challenge bias and bullying in themselves, others, and society. We cultivate student leadership and engage students and staff in active learning. 

For the past two years, a group of Brookwood students have attended the ADL No Place for Hate Summit held on Martin Luther King Jr. Day. January 2021's event was held virtually with Brookwood students leading all six breakout sessions. Throughout the daylong events, students participated in activities that emphasize overcoming hate, treating others with respect, and becoming leaders. The mission of the summits is to inspire the next generation of leaders to stand up to hate and prejudice.

Brookwood staff have also held interactive Zoom sessions with ADL representatives. The program continues, as does Brookwood's commitment to combat bias, discrimination, and intolerance.

ADL is the world’s leading anti-hate organization. Founded in 1913 in response to an escalating climate of anti-Semitism and bigotry, its timeless mission is to protect the Jewish people and to secure justice and fair treatment for all. Today, ADL continues to fight all forms of hate with the same vigor and passion. A global leader in exposing extremism, delivering anti-bias education, and fighting hate online, ADL is the first call when acts of anti-Semitism occur. ADL’s ultimate goal is a world in which no group or individual suffers from bias, discrimination or hate.
