Brookwood High School Science Olympiad's mission is to prepare students to compete in invitational, regional, state and national competitions while exploring various fields of science. Brookwood's team is a member of the Georgia Science Olympiad and National Science Olympiad organizations. The team meets regularly every week to prepare for events and competitions. Students of all grades are encouraged to join!

At the State Level

Brookwood High School won its tenth state championship in 12 years in April 2022. Brookwood regularly places in the top positions at the Georgia State Science Olympiad competition and goes on to compete at the national tournament. In March 2024, BHS placed third in state.

At the Region Level

In February 2024, Brookwood earned its 14th region title. Brookwood earned medals in every event at the Regional level. Our “A” team placed first and our “B” team placed third at the Region competition.

About the Competitions

Science Olympiad is a 23-event competition that includes events in areas of engineering, physics, chemistry, forensics, earth science, rocketry, etc. The Science Olympiad team prepares for these events by learning content, designing, engineering, and constructing, and practicing the events. The team attends several invitational tournaments each year in preparation for the Regional, State, and National tournaments.
