    Course Description: Foundations of Secure Information Systems covers a variety of topics including basic computer components, the Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) model, computer networks, cyber security ethics and digital citizenship.  Students will explore careers in information technology as well as  develop procedures to solve problems current to everyday life through computational thinking. Throughout the semester students will have the opportunity to apply troubleshooting concepts to issues regarding identity, compatibility, data, and differentiate networks based on coverage area.  This seventh, grade Connections class provides an introductory look at careers in the fields of Information Support & Services, Networking, and Cyber security.
