• 1:1 Chromebook Initiative

  • As we approach the start of the school year, we want to communicate our plan for student device distribution. All GCPS students in grades 3-12 will be issued a Chromebook to be used at school and taken home to extend learning beyond the school day for the 2022-23 school year. Students in grades K-2 will have access to a Chromebook daily in their classroom.

While content filtering is applied to devices, parents are responsible for monitoring the appropriate use of technology at home. Students in households with limited or no access to the internet can request a hotspot from the local school. Local schools will communicate their schedules for device distribution. Students are expected to use devices following the GCPS Acceptable Use Policy and the Student Conduct Behavior Code.

Students should arrive at school each day ready for learning with a fully charged device.

It is very important that families review the Parent and Student Responsibility information shared by GCPS.
