College Letter of Recommendations

  • Complete the Dacula Brag Sheet found in Naviance to share information about yourself with counselors and teachers. Remember, the more you share, the more teachers and counselors can incorporate into your letter to make it more meaningful. Please take your time completing your Brag Sheet.

    • Log into Naviance through the Student Portal under Additional Resources
      • Select About Me
      • Then select Surveys.
      • Then select Surveys from Your School
      • Then select Dacula Brag Sheet

How to request recommendations through Naviance:

      • Access your Naviance account through the student portal under Additional Resources
      • Click on “Colleges” then “Letters of Recommendation.”
      • Click “Add Request”
      • Choose your teacher from the drop-down menu, then choose whether you want their letter to go to all current and future colleges or only specific colleges that you select.
      • Click “Submit Request”
      • Speak with your teachers first to ensure they can provide you with a letter.

Make sure to request recommendations WELL before the deadline - 10 school days should be the minimum.

You do not need to request Counselor Recommendations on Naviance specifically. Naviance will notify counselors of any school that requires a Counselor recommendation. Counselors will not provide a letter of recommendation to students who do not complete the Brag Sheet on Naviance.

DO NOT add your counselor to Common App. If you have already added them as an “Advisor” or “Other Recommender,” you must remove them. You can do this by going to the “My Colleges” page on Common APP and clicking “Manage Recommenders.”

Final Transcript Requests

  • If you plan to attend any Postsecondary Institution, a final transcript must be sent! Final transcripts are NOT available through Naviance, Parchment, or Common App.

Below are two methods to obtain a final transcript.

    1. IF YOUR COLLEGE IS IN GEORGIA (no fee required)

You can send your transcript electronically at www.gafutures.org. Final transcripts should be available online after Friday June 2, 2023. Please check your college deadline. (**Your SSN must be on file with Dacula HS for you to use this option)

    1. IF YOUR COLLEGE IS NOT IN GEORGIA ($5.00 fee required)

Please pay the $5.00 transcript fee online at www.MyPaymentsPlus.com and submit the drop-down form (under school fees). Please mark the appropriate method of transcript delivery on the form. Also, please check the box for "Final Transcript" so that our office does not send your transcript from December 2022.

    • If you check the box for Dacula HS to mail your transcript, please include the COMPLETE address of the Admissions Office of the college that the transcript is being sent to.
    • If you check the box to pick your transcript up, the sealed final transcript will be available in the front office beginning on Monday June 5, 2023.

    *STUDENT ATHLETES*

Student athletes must send a final transcript to the NCAA, or NAIA as well as the college. Please email tammi.boswell@gcpsk12.org to have your transcript uploaded electronically to the NCAA or NAIA.
