French
Parlez-vous français? French is a beautiful, rich, melodious language that is often called the language of love. But did you know that French is also an analytical language that structures thought and develops critical thinking? The ability to speak French and English is an advantage on the international job market, too. A knowledge of French opens the doors to French food, fashion and friendships. Come join us in Archer’s French program where you will be introduced to the language and cultures of France and Francophone (French-speaking) countries and regions. (At present, there are 29 countries that use French as an official language.) Venez! Dive in and immerse yourself in a beautiful language that will give you a second soul.

Latin
Are you interested in studying medicine, science, or law? Do you want to do better in your other classes while also improving your English vocabulary? This is one of the most useful classes you will ever take! Studying Latin, a highly organized and logical language, sharpens the mind, cultivates mental alertness, creates keener attention to detail, develops critical thinking, AND enhances problem solving abilities. In Latin I, students develop the ability to read and write Latin through the study of vocabulary and grammar. Students will also be introduced to Ancient Roman culture and focus on the influence Latin has on the English Language!

Spanish
Why should you study Spanish?
- There are over 400 million Spanish speakers world-wide. Many of whom live here in the United States. By learning Spanish, you'll be better able to communicate with Spanish speakers here as well as other countries.
- Many Latin American countries are important trade partners with the US and being able to communicate with these countries will give you an opportunity that someone else may not have.
- Being able to speak Spanish enhances your resume. If you are bilingual, you are more competitive in the workplace.
- Not only will you be able to communicate in Spanish, but your language skills will enable you to interact with English Language Learners and will improve your own language skills in English.
- You can travel to a Spanish-speaking country and experience the culture with your ability to communicate with the people in the communities where you travel.
In beginning Spanish, you will learn conversational items such as likes, food, activities, family, household items, clothing and be able to share about yourself as well as ask about others and their lives.
Spanish also opens the opportunity to travel and visit other countries to experience the culture in person. Archer offers several travel-abroad opportunities to foreign language students each year.
