About the Media Center

Vision
The vision of our media center is to create a community of life-long learners who are prepared for the future through their love of reading, learning, problem solving and collaboration.
Mission
The mission of our media center is to provide resources to meet academic needs, to promote enthusiasm and enjoyment of reading, and to support the curriculum through literature, research and collaboration.
Hours
The media center is open for students from 8:20 am to 2:30 pm daily. Students may visit in small groups with their teacher's permission. Teachers may also schedule whole class visits with the media specialist.
Checkouts
Students in kindergarten and first grade may check out 1 book for two weeks. Most classes visit the media center weekly. Students in second grade through fifth grade may check out 2 books for two weeks. Exceptions can be made with teacher/media specialist permission.
Overdue books and lost books
If a student has an overdue book, they must return that book before further checkout. If a student has lost a book, the cost is $15 for a hardback book and $5 for a paperback book.

Ms. Helen Diaz
Ms. Diaz has been a teacher at Lovin Elementary School for 9 years. She is a graduate of North Georgia College and State University and received her Masters of Education at Georgia State University. She received her Specialist degree in School Library Media. She enjoys spending time with her family and her dog, Thor! She enjoys reading, old movies, and traveling.

Mrs. Angela Legg
Mrs. Legg is the media clerk at Lovin. She enjoys reading, running and spending time with family. Mrs. Legg was selected as the Gwinnett County Media Clerk of the Year for 2019-2020 and was selected as the Lovin Elementary Support Person of the Year in the fall of 2023!
