Digital citizenship is the quality of habits, actions, and consumption patterns of technology that affect individuals and communities. Basically, it is the behaviors and attitudes we exhibit when using the technological tools vital to our digital lives. There are many aspects of being a good digital citizen such as recognizing your digital footprint, being safe online, and how to effectively communiate in our technological age.

Technology teams from all schools in the Norcross Cluster have agreed to a plan that will hopefully reach every student from kindergarden to senior year. Every month has a different digital citizenship focus, and there are two ways we approach those topics. First, we send out a short desciption of the topic to the community via our school websites and newsletters. We hope this way you can speak with your students about what it means at school and at home to be a good digital citizen. Secondly, we use curriculum developed by Common Sense Media to teach students about the monthly topic. The way this curriculum is delivered varies from school to school. At Paul Duke STEM, students in Intro to Digital Technology access the lessons directly while students not enrolled in that course access it through other teachers.
