What is Readers Rally?
- The Gwinnett Readers Rally is a quiz bowl-style competition for students in grades 4 – 12. Students read books from a predetermined list and answer questions about those books. Each Gwinnett County school may send one team of up to 10 players to the Readers Rally. For the 2022-2023 school year, there were 86 teams that participated in the annual county-wide competition at Peachtree Ridge High School. The following teams were the county champions for the 2022-2023 school year: Starling Elementary School, North Gwinnett Middle School, and GSMST. The Gwinnett County Readers Rally Competition is typically held the third weekend in February each year.

Yearbook Staff
CMS yearbook staff members are selected through an application process during the spring of the previous school year. Only rising 7th grade students may apply. This allows all staff members to serve for two years. Our staff typically meets before school (day and time varies) throughout the fall and spring semesters. In order to participate on yearbook staff, students must have transportation to and from school for meetings. Yearbook staff members are assigned various duties such as designing layouts, encouraging yearbook sales, interviewing and taking photos of students and staff. Preparing the yearbook for publishing is a very important responsibility that requires dedication, creativity and an eye for detail.
