It is the required district Language Arts assessment for 3rd quarter. The purpose of the Gwinnett Writes assessment program is to assess writing skills for each student. The assessment is designed to measure student achievement relative to the knowledge and skills set forth in Gwinnett’s essential curriculum, the Academic Knowledge and Skills (AKS). The AKS includes writing skills that are specifically taught in language arts courses as well as embedded within science and social studies courses. The assessment occurs during third quarter as a language arts summative assessment with a choice of writing topics from Language Arts, Science, and Social Studies. The writing tasks are document-based prompts that require students to construct either an expository or argumentative response. During the test development process, Gwinnett educators develop and review all items to ensure there is alignment between the writing assessment and the AKS.To find more information, please visit this website: https://www.gcpsk12.org/families/accountability-and-assessment/assessmentsPlease ensure students arrive at school on time and with a fully-charged Chromebook and charger.Parents and students may review the Gwinnett Writes Choice topics that 10th Grade LA students may choose from. The Testing Office is responsible for all testing related to successful performance at Mountain View.
