  • Band

    Location: During Connections Classes and during morning tutoring

    For BASKETBALL PEP BAND: Mondays 4:30-6PM & Thursday basketball games at 5 PM

    Mission/Purpose: The goal of the RMS Band Program is to to provide an environment that develops creativity, self-expression, self-confidence and personal discipline. In addition, students will develop an appreciation of music and an understanding of music fundamentals by becoming skilled in playing a musical instrument.

  • Chorus

    Location: Chorus Room in class and morning tutoring.

    Mission/Purpose: The primary purpose of the RMS Chorus Program is to provide students with the opportunity to sing and perform advanced repertoire in various genres. Our mission is to provide a superior choral arts education in which students gain not only musical skills and a life-long appreciation of music, but also develop individual skills and strategies that will help them to be successful in all academic areas and throughout their lives.

  • Cross Country

    Locations: N/A
    Description: A sport that involves running over long distances across outdoor courses over natural terrain. 
    Mission/Purpose: Cross country is a sport that brings students together and can improve physical, social and emotional health through running. 

  • Intramurals

    Sponsors:

    Target Audience: 

    All RMS students in grades 6th-8th grade who want to stay physically fit by playing sports with friends. 

     

    When: 7:30– 9:00 AM (Drop off between 7:30 - 7:45 AM) 

    First Semester (starts August 28) Second Semester (starts March 4)
    Monday – Flag Football or Volleyball Monday –Flag Football or Volleyball
    Tuesday – Basketball Tuesday – Basketball
    Friday – Soccer Friday - Soccer

    *You can come pick whatever days you want to come.


    Students assigned to ISS cannot participate in the intramural program that day.
    Intramurals is an extracurricular program. Failure to follow school rules or Intramural program policies will result in suspension from the intramural program.

    Where: 

    Students will need to be dropped off at the doors to the boys’ gym in the back of the school.

    What to Bring: 

    Students should come to school dressed to participate in fitness activities. Water is encouraged. Locker rooms will be available for use after the club activities.

  • Orchestra

    Mission/Purpose: The primary purpose of the RMS Orchestra Program is  to have students learn basic through intermediate techniques of playing string instrument as well as playing in an ensemble. We want to teach students to appreciate the value of quality music in society as well as develop qualities of leadership, citizenship, and pride in their performance ultimately resulting in an orchestra of young professionals.

  • Robotics Competition Team

    Location: Every Tuesday & Thursday 4:30 - 6PM. See sponsors for details.

    Mission/Purpose: Students will participate in the VEX VRC competition. Throughout the season, students will design, build, and program a robot based on the requirements specified for the year's competition using approved VEX materials and then compete against other teams across the state.

  • Step Team

    Description: Step Team is an 7th and 8th grade team focused on bringing spirit & support for all RMS activities.

    Mission/Purpose: The mission of the RMS Step Team is to provide a positive outlet for students to demonstrate skilled movements & coordinated routines, while building positive self concepts teamwork & attitudes for success

    Description: Open to all students 6th – 8th who desire to be leaders in the school.

    Mission/Purpose: It is a service organization that provides opportunities for members to develop leadership skills as they organize service projects for the school and community. It also provides an exchange of ideas between faculty and student body through its elected officials

  • Titan Gamers

    Description: The Titan Gamers club provides opportunities for students to learn coding while developing and playing games!

  • Titan Television

    Description: The RMS News Crew produces the daily morning announcements and assists in the production of special RMS video features.

    Description: Enjoy strategy? Do you have an analytical mind? Join other like-minded individuals as we practice our chess skills and enjoy each other company while attempting to checkmate our opponents.

  • Graphic Novel Club

    Mission: The graphic novel club exists to create a community of students who enjoy graphic novels and manga together.

  • Kids for Christ Surge

    Description: This student-led, adult-supervised club is open to all students interested in Christian fellowship, programs, and community service.

    Mission/Purpose: The purpose of Kids for Christ Surge is to develop student leadership skills, individual spiritual growth, and community service.

  • Peer Leaders

    Location: Leadership training is Tuesdays from 8:15- 9:00 am first semester in the Professional Learning Center Room on C-Hall.  There is also an option to be a Classroom Helper during Connections for 2nd semester.

    Description: Peer Leadership is a student organization that is offered to 8th grade students who are respectful, responsible, self-disciplined, and have the potential to be great student leaders. Assignments for Peer Leaders may vary, but may include working in the classroom with a teacher during connections, assisting a younger student, giving new student tours, helping out in the media center, tutoring, and helping out with other special projects in the school.

  • PRISM

    Academic Sponsors: Lakeisha Thomson; Frances McConnell

    Location: Every 2nd & 4th Friday, 8:15-8:50 AM

    Mission:  Prism is an all-inclusive, student-led club that aims to provide a safe, tolerant, and supportive place for LGBTQ+ students and allies. 

    This club can touch on topics such as family, identity, and respect. It can be a place for LGBTQ+ students and allies to connect and hold space for each other. We believe that schools can be truly safe ONLY when every student is assured of access to an education without fear of harassment or violence.

  • Readers' Rally

    Description: Readers Rally is a book club that reads and discusses award winning books and practices for competition. Members are recommended by their teachers and chosen by the club’s sponsors. Members practice answering questions about the books preparation for the county competition.

    Mission/Purpose: To cultivate a love of reading for pleasure

  • Relay for Life

    Description: Conduct various fundraisers throughout the year for cancer research and participate in the annual Gwinnett County Relay for Life Walk in May

    Mission/Purpose: To have student involved in fundraising activities for Relay for Life and help prepare and plan for the big event in May

    Affiliation: Gwinnett County Relay for Life/ Work with Beta Club, American Cancer Society

  • Science Club

    Location: One Wednesday of each month 4:30 - 5:30 PM in Mrs. Chupurdy's room.
     
    Description: Students of all grade levels come together to enjoy hands on STEM activities. Announcements and dates posted on the Google Classroom page.

    Mission/Purpose: Interest students further in science and allow them to participate in homemade science experiments they do not get to do in the classroom.



  • Tabletop Titans Gaming Club

    Academic Sponsors: Andrew Paulk

    Location: Mr. Paulk's Room 1.131, the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month (subject to change around school calendar) from 4:30-6:15pm.

    Description: Tabletop Titans is a club designed to offer students a fun and inclusive space where they can enjoy a variety of board games, trading card games, and participate in Dungeons & Dragons (D&D) sessions.

    Mission/Purpose:  To develop teamwork, creativity, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills while forming new friendships.

    Affiliation: No outside affiliations
