    Parent Center Contact Information

    The Parent Center is located in the first hallway to the right, off the Main Lobby.  The Parent Center is a place where all Berkmar High School parents are welcomed.  Here, parents can receive Title I information, review Title I documents, explore parenting resources, and gain information about ways to become more involved in their child’s education.  All Title I documents are located in the Parent Center for review.  In addition, the Parent Instructional Coordinator (PIC) works closely with Gwinnett County Public Schools, BHS teachers and administrators to promote parent involvement and ways to communicate better with the school.  The Parent Instructional Coordinator/Assistant Principal of Title I, plans workshops and meetings throughout the year to continually support our parents.

  • Family-School Partnership Advisory Council (PAC) Meeting, March 28, 2024 @ 6:00 PM

    Families are invited to join us in person at the GCPS Instructional Support Center (Grayson Room).  During this in-person meeting, GCPS families will receive information about Title III Multilingual Learners, Early Learning and School Readiness, Homeless Education Program, Migratory Students, and the Foster Care Program

    Families will have the opportunity to provide input on how these funds are utilized to support students, staff, and our schools.

  • Title I Draft Document Review, March 11 - 29, 2024

    Please join us Thursday, March 21, 2024 at 7:00 PM for our annual Title I Draft Document Review.  This is a great opportunity for parents, community stakeholders, and faculty and staff to provide input for the upcoming school year.  It is also an opportunity to provide input on the Needs Assessment, The Plan ... The Promise ..., and Budgets.  

    Please review and provide input on the following documents, which will be presented at the Title Draft Document Review.  These documents are available on our website below as well as The Parent/Family Center.  The survey link will be available through March 29, 2024 at 3:00 PM.  We value your input!  Thank you.

    We invite Parents, family members, members of the community, and school staff to join our Title I Planning meeting on March 21, 2024 at 6:00 PM (In-Person) to review and provide input and jointly develop the following documents:

    • Local School Plan for Improvement (LSPI) goals, Title I Family Engagement Plan and Promise, and Title I Budget allocation for our school.
    • District Improvement Plan (DIP), District Family and Community Engagement Plan, and the District’s Title I Budget.

    We seek your input as we plan the implementation of the Title I program for the upcoming year.

  • Family Engagement: Georgia Milestones Assessment Family Night, February 6, 2024 @ 5:30 PM

    The Office of Family Engagement in the Department of Federal Programs invites all families of students in grades 3 – 12 to join the “Georgia Milestones Assessment (GMAS) Family Night” led by the Executive Director of the Accountability & Assessment Office on February 6th from 5:30 to 6:30 PM.   

    During this family night, GCPS families will receive information about the Georgia Milestones assessment (GMAS), sample questions, and tips to help your child at home.

    Free Credit Recovery

    Credit recovery courses are being offered throughout the school year. Direct any questions to your student's assigned counselor via email or by calling 770-806-8922.

    Attention Parents!  Your child can earn college credit in high school!

    The new Dual Enrollment dual-credit program provides assistance for postsecondary tuition, mandatory fees, and books.  Eligible students may participate part-time or full-time at multiple postsecondary institutions, but applications for Dual Enrollment must be completed every term.  The eligible student and parent/guardian should schedule the required Dual Enrollment advisement session with the school counselor to discuss the dual-credit program options.  More information can be found on our main web page under the tab 'Home'.
