    School clubs help students develop their social skills. They fine-tune their interactions with their peers and with faculty members, and they have the opportunity to connect with other students who share similar interests. These interactions may form the basis for enduring friendships.  Please consider joining one of our fun groups!

  • Art Club / NJAHS (National Junior Art Honor Society)

    Description

    Students participate in extra-curricular art-making and exhibition opportunities, collaborative group art projects as well as individual creations. As members of NJAHS, they have the opportunity for juried exhibition on local, state, and national level, leadership growth opportunities, college and career preparation, and an unmatched sense of camaraderie.

    Description

    Learn more about the Asian culture through games and snacks! $11 club fee per semester. Follow us on instagram for updates @dmsaasa.

    Other than club meetings we have planned spirit week for lunar new years and AAPI Heritage Month. As well as a school wide paw points gift for Lunar New Years.

  • Black Student Union (BSU)

    Description

    The purpose of Black Student Union (also referred to as BSU) is  to Promote a positive cultural self perception using activities that foster equity, education and celebrate a rich and dynamic culture. Open to students of ALL backgrounds.  

    We will cover a variety of topics including: self worth, self perception, history of culture, overcoming adversity and much more. Our activities include A look into black cinema, a look into the black history of music contributions, family feud and family trivia, Black history bingo, Black history month activities with Duluth middle school and Duluth High school, collaborative activities with the Asian Student Union and Poetry Club.

    Description

    Our goal is to teach students about what goes into putting on live theatre, whether it be a play or musical.

    Description

  • National Junior Beta Club

    Description

    As the largest, independent, educational youth organization in America, National Beta emphasizes our four pillars by providing opportunities and experiences to impact our members, their schools, and communities across the world.

  • Readers Rally

    Description

    The Gwinnett Readers Rally is a quiz bowl style competition for students in grades 4–12. 

    Students read 10 books specifically selected by the Readers Rally committee. We meet to discuss and analyze these books.  Students generate practice questions along the way.  Quiz-bowl style competition with other GCPS middle schools in February.

  • Spectrum GSA

    Description

    Spectrum GSA is a club that promotes acceptance of all people, regardless of their gender, identity, and culture. Our goal is to incorporate DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion) for all students at Duluth Middle School by discussing topics such as social acceptance, self-love, peer bullying, seeing diversity as a strength in themselves, and much more! We aim to promote a positive school environment for all in the LGBTQIA+ community as well as our peers. All are welcomed at Spectrum GSA!  

    Activities include Have guest speakers from the LGBTQIA+ community, get togethers after school.

  • The Wildcat Chef Cooking Club

    Description

    We will explore elements of culinary delights, ranging from various cultures and cooking styles, all while learning basic kitchen safety procedures and tools. Each month, we will meet to create some sort of dish together, sometimes with the help of guest chefs from our school and community. At the end of each meeting, the Cat Chefs will expand our palates by trying the food we've created, as well as various ingredients/items from that month's themed dish. Following our first month's meeting, which will be open to all interested students, those who desire to join the Cat Chefs will be required to pay a $30 one-time fee to cover the cost of materials/food.

  • Torch Club

    Description

    This is a student-led Christian fellowship club. ALL STUDENTS in all grades are welcome. Each meeting may consist of fellowship, music, refreshments, student-led lesson of the group’s chosen themes, and potentially guest speakers. We will offer assistance at service projects at DMS (such as Food Giveaways) and in the community. The Daily Dose of Kindness Boxes and Notes to Janitors are a couple of examples of initiatives the club has taken on.

    Description

    Vision: Our mission at the Young Entrepreneurs Club is to empower individuals by providing the knowledge, skills, and resources needed to pursue higher education, training, and entrepreneurship. Through collaboration with community members, local businesses, educators and volunteers, we strive to support economic self-sufficiency and create opportunities for everyone to succeed.

    Description

    We at Duluth Middle School are happy to provide an intramural program for all 6th, 7th, and 8th-grade students at no cost to you. The purpose of the program is to develop physical skills and help students learn about teamwork, sportsmanship, respect for others, and the development of good self-esteem. Dress comfortably in athletic shoes.
