Geographically, the school system covers a 437-square mile area northeast of Atlanta. It extends from Norcross on the west, Dacula on the east, to Lake Lanier on the north and Snellville on the south. GCPS students are enrolled in schools according to “cluster” attendance zones. A cluster is a geographical area containing 3-6 elementary schools that feed into the same 1 or 2 middle schools, then the same high school.
The Duluth Cluster consists of four elementary schools, two middle schools, & Duluth High School.

The Duluth Cluster Schools Foundation encourages you to join our efforts to assist our schools in supporting Academics, Arts and Atheletics. We work primarily to raise funds in support of direct grant requests from the teachers of the Duluth Cluster Schools. Please let us know if you would like to get more directly involved with this rewarding volunteer organization. You may donate to the Duluth Cluster Fund at any time.

The purpose of the Local School Council is to help the local Board of Education develop and nurture participation; bring parents and the community together with teachers and school administrators to create a better understanding of and a mutual respect for each others' concerns; and share ideas for school improvement. Members serve two year terms and there are approximately 4 meetings each year. Candidates can apply or be nominated to be a part of this council when a position becomes available.

The overall purpose of PTA is to make every child’s potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children. The Duluth High School PTSA will continue to uphold the national and state standards for PTAs which are: Open communication between home and school, school respect and support of parents’ role in their students’ lives, parent involvement in their child’s learning, welcome of parent volunteers at the school, parent involvement in school decisions affecting their children, and community involvement in the education process.
