If hazardous weather, including snow or ice, or other emergencies present a threat to the safety of students, staff, or school property, Coleman Middle may close early or cancel school as appropriate. The decision to cancel school is generally made before 6 a.m. The Gwinnett County Public Schools superintendent makes the decision about weather-related school closings including snow and ice. The school system immediately notifies:

• Atlanta’s major radio stations
• Atlanta’s major television stations

Additionally, the information is announced on GCPS TV. GCPS TV can be found on the following Gwinnett County cable channels:

• Charter – Channel 22
• Comcast – Channel 24 or 26
• AT&T U-verse – check the GCPS TV website for details
