Welcome!
-
Simonton Elementary School's Media Center is the hub for learning and collaborating! Our media center includes multiple small group and collaboration areas, whole class lesson areas, new interactive technologies, and more space for the books we love!
The Media Center loves to connect our students with books to meet their interests! We offer thousands of titles for students to choose from for self-selected reading. Mrs. Andrews and Mrs. Richey are always ready to talk to students and help them discover a new story. Our collection includes graphic novels, picture books, chapter books, non-fiction books on a variety of topics, and books in Spanish.

The Media Center is open for students each school day from 9:00 am until 2:30 pm. Teachers may sign up for a weekly time for a class library visit or use their Media Center passes to send students in pair/small groups throughout the day.

Links and Resources:
The Branch Out program gives students access to high-quality digital resources provided by the Gwinnett County Public Library. All students are enrolled into the program, and students can use these databases and e-books at home and school.
Students use their GCPS nine-digit number as their username/library card number when prompted to login. The PIN/password is the birth month and date, in the MMDD format, of the student. For example, if the student birthday is January 1, the PIN/password will be 0101. Contact the media staff if you have questions about this collaboration.
Elementary Branch Out Resources
As students use their devices to enhance their learning, it is important to remember digital citizenship skills. At Simonton, digital citizenship lessons are an important part of the technology specials curriculum. More resources on this topic can be found at the link below:
