The mission of M.H. Mason Elementary School Counseling Department, in alignment with the missions of M.H. Mason Elementary School and Gwinnett County Public Schools, is to promote rigorous academics, personal responsibility, and behavioral excellence by creating an equitable and accessible environment for all students resulting in measured improvement against local, national, and world-class standards. Through participation in a data-driven comprehensive school counseling program, all students have the opportunity to develop the academic, career, and social-emotional skills needed to become successful lifelong learners ready to meet the challenges of a changing world.

The students from the Comprehensive School Counseling Program at Mason Elementary School graduate into lifelong learners, self-managers, and conscientious citizens. They gain the academic, career, and social/emotional skills from a world-class school system to meet the challenges of a changing global society, as well as the critical thinking and problem-solving skills to be successful, productive members of society. As students confidently continue their education at the postsecondary level and/or enter the workforce, they exemplify responsibility, leadership, resiliency, and ethical behavior.
