  • October Principal's Letter

It is hard to believe it is already October! We’ve had a great month of teaching and learning in September and we’re so proud of the progress each student is making this year. We just had our second STEAM day on the 18th and our students were able to dig into their year-long Project Based Learning (PBL) opportunities. These PBL opportunities give students a chance to collaborate with their peers and engage in the design thinking process while facing a real-world scenario. Our 4th and 5th graders built their aquaponic and hydroponic towers, our K-3 students were able to get back into their gardens and prepare them for the next step in their PBL. We have out next STEAM day on October 16th!

Thank you all for helping your child to get to school on time! We want to continue to see the number of tardies (checking in after 8:15 am) decrease. When a student checks-in after 8:15 am they are missing morning meeting and instruction. So, thank you for ensuring they are here and on-time each day!

Due to Hurricane Helene our annual fundraiser, Lion Stomp, was pushed back a few days to October 9th. Please continue to encourage your child to ask for donations as we continue to raise funds for the school and our STEAM initiatives.
