  • Dear Parents & Students:

Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year! I am Ms. Veronica Edwards, Professional School Counselor for 7th Grade at Lilburn Middle School.  In working with students, I will be conducting individual counseling (i.e., Attendance Monitoring, Academics, Behavior, Goal-Setting Skills, Decision Making Skills, etc.) that is brief and goal-oriented, group counseling (i.e., Attendance, etc.), and teaching guidance lessons and skills throughout the year to students individually and in the classroom. These lessons and skills include:

    • Conflict Resolution Skills/Bullying Prevention
    • Character Building
    • Organization and Study Skills
    • Career Building
    • Leadership Skills (Identifying Rising 8th Grade Peer Leader Candidates)
    • Goal-Focused Communication

Additionally, the counselors work with various community mentoring programs to provide services to identified students.

The counseling department offers a wide variety of services to parents and students. Additionally, if a student needs ongoing clinical counseling, there are resources and services available to share with parents accordingly.  Therefore, we encourage you to take advantage of these services/resources. More information regarding these resources and services is located on the LMS Counseling Program Services page. I look forward to working with you and helping in any way to close the achievement gap. Let's make this a great year of teaching and learning!!!

    Warmest Regards,

    Veronica Edwards
