    Boys - Coach Jeff Glass

    Coach Glass is entering his sixth year of teaching and coaching at Berkmar High School. Born and raised in Alpharetta, GA, Coach Glass has been playing tennis since his childhood days. In elementary and middle school Coach Glass played in various ALTA and USTA leagues in the Atlanta area and played 3 years of tennis at Centennial High School in Roswell, GA where he graduated in 2007. After Centennial, Coach Glass attended the University of Georgia for both his undergraduate and graduate studies in history and education. Actively involved in singles, doubles, and mixed doubles leagues through ALTA, USTA, T2 Tennis, and Ultimate Tennis, Coach Glass still loves to play. Taking over the boys program from Coach Rosenberger in 2017, Coach Glass is in his second year with the Berkmar Boys Tennis program. His previous coaching experience includes five years of coaching at the University of Georgia with the men’s basketball team and five years of coaching at Berkmar High School with the boys basketball program.

    Girls - Coach Matt Welch

    Coach Welch is entering his fifth year of teaching and coaching at Berkmar. A 2003 Graduate of North Gwinnett High School, Coach Welch played basketball for a nationally ranked team. After his time at North Gwinnett, he attended Valdosta State University where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Health & Physical Education. After college he began teaching and coaching at Ashley Ridge High School in Summerville, SC near Charleston. During his 7 years in Summerville, SC he taught PE, coached football, and was the head JV basketball coach as well as the head varsity assistant coach to his brother Brian Welch. This will be his 5th year as an assistant on Berkmar Boys Basketball Staff. Coach Welch is extremely excited to start his first year coaching the Berkmar Tennis program, and will do his very best to help the program improve on the court and in the classroom.
