• Kindergarten Registration

  • Review the GCPS Registration page to determine what documents and kindergarten requirements need to be met before starting the steps below. 

  • Step 1: Complete Online Registration

    IMPORTANT: Please make sure to choose the "2024-2025" school year from the drop-down box.

    After your registration is complete, you will be contacted to set up an appointment for your child to complete a Kindergarten Readiness Entry Profile. This will help us see what your child knows before entering Kindergarten.

    If this is your first time registering any student for GCPS:

    • For parents enrolling a Kindergarten or new student, and you have no other students in the GCPS system, please click here to begin the Online Registration process. A reminder to please complete the required Online Registration Form for EACH new student you are registering. 

    If you currently have other children attending a GCPS school:

    • If you already have another child enrolled in a GCPS school, you will need to add your new student via your ParentVue account.  Log into  ParentVUE and begin the registration process by clicking on the 'Online Registration' button in the upper right-hand corner.  

      • Note: March 2024 GCPS consolidated Parent Portal and ParentVue. You will need to reset your ParentVue password by clicking 'forgot password'. Please continue to use your email as your username.
    • Please DO NOT create a new ParentVue account for the new student.  Use your existing ParentVue account to register your new student.  If you have questions, please contact our registrar, Carrie March, at Carrie.March@gcpsk12.org 

    If you are enrolling a new Kindergartener for the 2024-2025 school year, the child must be 5 years old by September 1, 2024.

    Please Note: This DOES NOT complete the registration process. Please continue with Step 2.

  • Step 2: Upload Required Documentation

    Required documentation can be uploaded during the online registration process.  A list of the required documents can be found HERE.

    We encourage you to upload all documents when registering. These items include:

    • Birth Certificate
    • Parent Photo ID
    • Social Security Card
    • Immunization on Ga form # 3231
    • Vision/Hearing/Dental on Ga form #3300
    • TWO Proofs of Residency which may include:
      Water bill, Electric bill, AND/OR closing/lease agreement, property tax bill, homeowner's insurance, warranty deed

    A residency affidavit is required for all students if you reside in a home that is owned by someone else, upload the above information and an attached residency affidavit.

    Please be aware that your child will not be entered into our student database and assigned to a teacher until ALL required documents are received. If possible, please upload documents ahead of time.

    Upon completion of the online registration process by the parent, the school will contact the parent to verify that everything has been completed and the required documentation has been submitted.

    Please be aware that your child will not be entered into our student database and assigned a teacher until ALL required documents are received. If possible, please make copies ahead of time.

  • Step 3: Additional Information (Supply Lists, Cafeteria, etc...)

  • Step 4: Rising Kindergarten Academy

    In Rising K Academy, new kindergartners will meet new friends, learn through play, and practice skills they will need to be ready for school in the fall (1st day of school is August 5). The free, in-person program will run June 10–June 28, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., with a holiday on June 19. You must complete this online registration by May 10 for your child to participate in the Rising K Academy.

    Transportation is provided for children participating in the Rising K Academy at no cost to families.

    Breakfast and lunch will be offered to students for purchase. 

    Rising K Academy will be held at Mulberry Elementary School.

    Drop off Time: 7:45 a.m.     Start Time:  8:00 a.m.   End Time:   2:00 p.m.
