PE Club: Falcons Fit & Fun (K-2)
More information will be sent home. Make sure that you check the weekly newsletter!
Grades: K-2
Meeting Days: Wednesday mornings from 7:00-7:45 am beginning Wednesday, October 2nd. It will last for five weeks and end on Wednesday, October 30th, 2024.
Club Dates: 10/2 10/9 10/16 10/23 10/30
Description: Students will participate in games and activities to increase their physical fitness
Due to the limited number of spots, siblings are not allowed unless they meet the same age group requirement, and complete a separate form. The first 30 students who return the form to Mr. Moon will be accepted.
Registration: See Mr. Moon for a permission slip and additional information. There is a limit of 30 students in the club.

MES Blue Chorus (K-1)

Grades: K & 1st graders
Meeting Days: Thursdays mornings, 7:00-7:40 AM. Permission form must be submitted prior to attending.
Description: Students will rehearse choral pieces for special performances.
Registration: Chorus registration will be on a first come, first served basis. Registration information will be handed out to Kindergarten & 1st Grade students.
First Rehearsal will be October 24th.
Winter Concert on December 12.

FLL Robotics- Discover Team (K & 1st)
This is a 2nd semester club. More information will be sent home during 2nd semester.
Grades: Kindergarten & First
Meeting Days: Meet Wednesday afternoons 3:00-4:00 beginning January 22nd through the festival date Wednesday, March 26th.
Description: This playful introductory STEM program ignites their natural curiosity and builds their habits of learning with hands-on activities in the classroom with Lego DUPLO bricks.
The FLL Discover team with students in Kindergarten and 1st grade will learn explore the layers of the ocean and “sea” into the future.
Students will design, build solutions, and collaborate to develop ideas. Students will use the LEGO STEAM Park set and DUPLO Class Pack. Students will build models to showcase their learning at the FLL Festival.Registration: Application Only- 8 students from Kindergarten & First Grade

Team Cuisine (Mulberry's Cooking Club)- 1st, 2nd & 3rd
This is a 2nd semester club. More information will be sent home during 2nd semester.
Grades: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade students

Description: Beginner chefs in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade will learn new recipes and try new foods! We can’t wait to create tasty treats together!
Registration: During 2nd Semester: There is a limit of 30 students in the club (10 slots per grade level-1st, 2nd, and 3rd), so admittance will be based on first come first serve. The club fees will be used to pay for club materials (ingredients and supplies). Please pay the $25 club fee on mypaymentsplus.com.

FLL Robotics- Explore Team (2nd & 3rd)

Description: Do you enjoy building, designing and working with a team to create Robots using LEGOs? This Team might be for you!
This year's FIRST® LEGO® League challenge is called SUBMERGED. Children will learn to use their STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) skills and creativity to explore the layers of the ocean and “sea” into the future.During each session, they will experience the engineering design process. There is no set order for this process, and they may go through each part several times in a single session. This means that during a session, children will be exploring the theme and ideas, creating solutions, testing them, iterating and changing them, and then sharing what they’ve learned with others.Registration: Application Only-6 students from 2nd & 3rd

Art and Drawing Club (2nd, 3rd)

Description: Students will have the opportunity to practice directed drawings and create coordinating crafts surrounding popular characters and themes from shows, books, and musicians!

Spanish Club (3rd, 4th, 5th) students fluent in Spanish
Grades: Spanish Reading Club for students in grades 3, 4, & 5 students fluent in Spanish
Meeting Days: Wednesdays from 3:15 to 4:00pm. Club starts November 13th and will end on April 2nd
Where: Mrs. Puente's classroom
Who: 3rd, 4th, & 5th graders students that are fluent in Spanish
Description: Students who join this club will have the opportunity to read texts written in Spanish, host discussions in Spanish, and participate in creative activities associated with them.

Stitch Club (3rd-5th)
Grades: 3rd, 4th, & 5th
Meeting Days: Tuesday mornings (7:10 AM- 7:45 AM)
Where: Mulberry Media Center (drop off in front of school)
Who: 3rd (first 5), 4th (first 5), and 5th graders (first 8) to sign up
Description: Knit! Stitch! Hooray! Calling all 3rd-5th graders!
Students will learn all different skills from knitting, embroidery, sewing, crocheting, or needlework of any kind.
*Consent form for using sewing needles and sewing equipment required to attend.

Wittzle Pro (4th, 5th)
Description: Witzzle Pro is for students who enjoy solving number puzzles. The children will be challenged to use critical thinking skills while playing a challenging game of speed “number crunching.” Students will also have the opportunity to participate in one or more Witzzle Pro tournaments.
Grades: Open to all Fourth, and Fifth graders 3rd Graders will have the chance to join in January.
Registration: Registration form will be sent home in Friday folders
The club will meet in Ms. Nevius’ classroom each Wednesday morning 7:55 to 8:15 a.m.

FLL Lego League Robotics (4th & 5th)
Grades: 4th & 5th Grades
Meeting Days: Meet Wednesdays after school 3:00 -4:30 beginning in September through competition in December. Final competition day will be on a Saturday (TBD)
Description: Attention 4th-5th Grade robotics enthusiasts! We're thrilled to announce the launch of our exciting First Lego League Robotics Club.This engaging club offers a fantastic opportunity for students to explore the world of robotics through hands-on Lego projects and creative problem-solving. To join in on the fun, interested students must complete the application by September 4th.
Registration: Application Only-10 students from 4th and 5th grade. Students need to ask your teacher for an application.
Deadline for applications: All applications are due by September 4th!

3D Printing Club (4th & 5th)
This is a 2nd semester club. More information will be sent home during 2nd semester.

Description: Students who join this club will have an opportunity to immerse themselves in the field of STEM. During our meetings, students will engage in designing and prototyping solutions to challenges presented each week. We will learn several engineering as well as 3D printing principals as we find solutions to real world problems we face. In addition, students will have an opportunity to work on their own 3D projects as well.
Registration: Application Only- 18 students from 4th and 5th. Check weekly parent newsletter for information.

Readers Rally (4th & 5th)
Grades: 4th & 5th Graders who qualify- Team limited to 10 members. Practice is open to students who are interested in trying out for the final 10 in December
Meeting Days: Thursdays during lunch or recess
Description: Do you like to read? Readers Rally is a quiz bowl style competition for students in 4th & 5th grade. Students read books from a predetermined list and answer questions about those books. Each Gwinnett County school may send one team of up to 10 players to the Readers Rally
Registration: Obtain the book list from the Mulberry website so you can read the selected books, then tryouts are in September

Mulberry STEM Exhibition (All Grades)
What: What is a STEM Exhibition? A STEM project is a demonstration of a solution that students have developed for what they deem a “real world” problem. These projects showcase ingenuity, student self-reflection and products that solve a problem. STEM Exhibitions allow students to share their work and receive feedback on their solution.

Mulberry Student Council (4th & 5th)
Description & Activities: Student Council provides a unique opportunity for fourth and fifth grade students to learn leadership skills and participate in an important democratic process. Fifth grade students may campaign for positions as officers on the Student Council, and both fourth and fifth graders may run for class representative positions.
Members are expected to demonstrate exemplary behavior, work habits, and attendance. Student council members receive specific leadership training. They build communication and mediation skills and participate in several school-wide initiatives, including charity giving, and modeling leadership habits.Grades: 4-5 grades

Mulberry National Junior Beta Club
Description & Activities: Mulberry Elementary students are invited to join Mulberry’s local chapter of National Junior Beta Club in 4th and 5th grade if they meet the criteria of:

Mulberry Falcon Morning News Crew (5th)
Description:
Fifth grade students will have the opportunity to train and produce the morning broadcast. Every fifth grader will have an opportunity to take part with the morning broadcast. Our morning news crew consists of news anchors, Chef Antonio, camera operators, sound mixer, floor director, teleprompter, and story board mixer.
Meeting Dates:
Every morning 8:00 AM to 8:25 AM Students are chosen by the teacher to participate in the news crew based on the fifth grade rotation.
