  • CLUB UPDATE!

    We want to let you know that club sponsors will reach out to you by September 20th if your child is accepted into a club. If you do not receive an email, it means your child was not selected this time. While we would love for every student to participate, there are limited spots available, and not all students may be selected. We greatly appreciate the teachers who are volunteering their time to offer these opportunities and thank you for your understanding.

  • Art Club

    The Art Club is a school sponsored club for students in 2nd, 3rd, 4th,  and 5th grade who show an interest in art.Meetings will be Wednesday mornings  from 7:15 -7:45 AM. Specific dates will be emailed to you later. We will have 2nd & 3rd grade on separate dates than 4th and 5th grades depending on the number of students. There will be a club fee of $7 to cover material costs.

  • Best Buddies Club

    Best Buddies is a leadership club for students in 4th and 5th grade. Club members will work together to help our 'buddies' in special needs classes at Ivy Creek! We meet before school from 7:15 to 7:45 a.m. There will be a club fee of $5.

  • Book Nook

    Calling all 4th Graders! Do you love books? Do you want to work in our school store, The Book Nook? The Book Nook is a school sponsored club for students in 4th grade who show an interest in the love of books! This is a student-run bookstore, selling gently used books and other school supplies. No experience needed! This club will be open from 7:45-8:20 AM on Thursdays.  An additional application will be given to students as part of the acceptance process.

  • Chess Club

    The Chess Club is a school sponsored club for students in 4th and 5th grade who show an interest in the game of Chess. Students can be experienced Chess players or can just be interested in learning the game. All levels are welcome! Meetings will be Thursday mornings from 7:15-7:45 AM.

  • Crochet Club

    Crochet Club is a school sponsored club designed for 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students who want to learn how to crochet and/or learn new skills. The club will meet Tuesday afternoons from 3:15 - 4:15. Students will be required to bring their own materials.

  • Discover Robotics

    FIRST Lego League Discover is a school sponsored club for Kindergarten and 1st-grade students that challenges kids to think like scientists and engineers.   They use the Engineering and Design Process to solve real world problems using Lego Bricks. The meetings will be held Tuesday afternoons from 3:15-4:15 PM.  The club is limited to 8 students. Applications will be given to students in November 2024 as part of the acceptance process. There will be a club fee of $20 for T-Shirts and suuplies.

  • Environmental Club

    The environmental club is a school sponsored club for 4th and 5th grade students who are interested in helping the environment and the school.  Meetings will be held one Thursday a month from 3:15-4:15 PM.  The fee for the club is $10.  This will cover a club shirt and club supplies.

  • FCA Club

    FCA is a school sponsored club for students in kindergarten through 5th grade who want to grow their relationship with Jesus Christ and learn how to demonstrate steadfast commitment to Jesus Christ and His Word through Integrity, serving, teamwork and excellence. Meetings will be held once a month on Tuesday mornings from 7:20-7:45AM.

  • FLL Explore Club

    FIRST Lego League Explore is a school sponsored club for 2nd and 3rd-grade students that challenges kids to think like scientists and engineers. Students will explore real-world problems, learn to design, code, and create unique solutions with LEGO bricks powered by LEGO® Education SPIKE Essential. The club will meet Tuesday afternoons from 3:15-4:20 PM. Applications will be given to students in November 2024 as part of the acceptance process.  There will be a club fee of $20 for T-Shirts and suuplies.

  • Girls Who Code

    Girls Who Code is a school sponsored club for 3rd - 5th graders who want to learn more about coding and diversity in technology. The club will meet twice a month on Wednesday mornings at 7:10am.

  • Junior Robotics

    Junior Robotics is a school sponsored club for students in 2nd and 3rd grade who want to learn basic concepts of robotic systems. The purpose of the club is to stimulate student interest and involvement in robotics by providing an opportunity for students to plan, design, code (program), and test robots to perform specific tasks. This club is designed to allow students to explore the basics of robotics in a non-competitive environment.

  • Kickball Club

    Kickball club is for students in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade who love the game of kickball. Meetings will be held Monday afternoons from 3:15-4:00 PM.

  • Kindness Club

    Kindness Club is for students in 2nd - 5th grade. The club will meet from Wednesday mornings from 7:15-7:45 AM. Students will make a difference in our community by radiating kindness through different projects and small acts of kindness. There is a  fee of $5 for materials.

  • Library Club

    For 3rd grade students. A limited number of students will be selected based on interest and teacher recommendation.  We will divide the club into Fall and Spring groups.  Students will perform a variety of tasks including shelving books, making deliveries, light cleaning, and assisting other students. Library Club members are assigned a shift to work during their recess once a week, and meet once a month after school on Mondays.  Exceptional behavior is required of all media helpers.

    • Club dues ($20) cover the cost of a club t-shirt and after-school snacks.  Note:  Dues will be collected upon acceptance into the club.

    • Pick up in the Bus Lane at 4:15 PM

  • News Crew

    For 5th grade students. A limited number of students are selected to participate based on application and teacher recommendation. The selected students will work in teams to broadcast Ivy Creek's morning news program, "Live on 5". Jobs include anchoring the news, operating cameras, running sound, operating software, and production equipment. Exceptional behavior is required of all news crew members.  The electronic application will be shared with all interested participants in early September.

    • Time(s)/Date(s): Monthly teams meet daily 8:00-8:20 AM

    • No need to drop off early.

    • Location:  Media Center

    • Readers Rally

      For 4th and 5th grade students.  Members read fantastic books from the GCPS Readers Rally list and discuss them during club meetings.  They practice questioning and answering each other based on the contents of the books.  In February, we have a school competition in which ten students are selected to compete at the county Readers Rally Event.  Space in this club is limited.  Keep in mind that participants are selected for the club based on their application, homework assignment, and teacher recommendation.  The electronic application and homework assignment will be shared with all interested participants in early September. 

      • Club dues ($20) cover the cost of a club t-shirt and a Readers Rally book.  Note: Dues will be collected upon acceptance into the club.

      • Time(s)/Date(s): Mondays 7:00-7:45 AM, September-January.  Additional February dates will be added for the competition team.

      • Location: Media Center

      • Drop Off in Bus Lane at 7:00 AM (Due to the nature of our work, siblings may not be dropped off early unless they are a member of the club.)
