Choir is a yearlong program open to all students at Five Forks Middle School. Students will focus on healthy and diverse vocal techniques, fundamentals of music theory, history, sight-singing, and ear training, and the rehearsal of choral literature. Most importantly, students will develop self-discipline, gain a better understanding of the world through a global approach to music education, and learn to work cooperatively with their peers. We have three-grade level choirs at FFMS and one extracurricular ensemble, Five Forks Chorale, that is open to all 7th and 8th-grade students in the choral program through audition.
Students are also encouraged to audition for District Honor Chorus, 7th, and 8th All-State Chorus, and 6th Grade Statewide Honor Chorus. Auditions for these extracurricular choir events for the 2019-2020 school year are TBA. Audition materials are located towards the bottom of this webpage.
