• Purpose/Mission: Our main goal is to educate and destigmatize mental health issues and help students destress. As of right now, the world is becoming increasingly more open to topics regarding mental health, but there are still many people who don’t know much about these topics. We want to educate people on how to be able to deal with these mental health issues and also help others properly. Additionally, our goal is to let go of the stigma around mental health. There are still many people that don’t believe that having bad mental health can affect a person’s life. Oftentimes, issues surrounding the topic of mental health are pushed under the rug or considered as “attention-seeking”. Peachtree Ridge needs this club to show its students and staff that they have a safe place where they can learn about these issues without the pressure of judgement. It would be beneficial to the many students who suffer from mental issues to have a club that can show them how to healthily deal with these issues. We want to break down the stigma revolving mental health and further educate the community around us to make it a more safe and loving environment for all.
