  • PE Club: Falcons Fit & Fun (K-2)

    Grades:  K-2

    Meeting Days:  Tuesday mornings, 7:00-7:45 AM

           Club Dates:  September 12, 19, 26    &  October 3, 10

    Description:  Students will participate in games and activites to increase their physical fitness  

    Registration: See Mr. Moon for a permission slip and additional information. There is a limit of 24 students in the club.

  • MES Blue Chorus (K-1)

    More information will be sent home.  Make sure that you check the weekly newsletter!

    Grades:  K & 1st graders

    Meeting Days:  Thursdays mornings, 7:00-7:40 AM.  Permission form must be submitted prior to attending.

    Description:   Students will rehearse choral pieces for special performances.

    Registration:  Chorus registration will be on a first come, first served basis. Registration information will be handed out to Kindergarten & 1st Grade students.

  • FLL Robotics- Discover Team (K & 1st)

    This is a 2nd semester club.  More information will be sent home during 2nd semester.

    Grades:  Kindergarten & First

    Meeting Days: Meet Mondays and Wednesday afternoons 3:00-4:00 beginning in late February through the festival date on April 13th. The festival will be on Saturday, April 13th at Seckinger High School.

    Description: This playful introductory STEM program ignites their natural curiosity and builds their habits of learning with hands-on activities in the classroom with Lego DUPLO bricks.

    This year’s FIRST LEGO League challenge is called MASTERPIECE. Children will learn about how people’s passion for the arts are shared through STEM. Children work together in teams using DUPLO pieces from STEAM Park by LEGO Education and the Discover set.

  • Garden Club (K-5)

    This is a 2nd semester club.  More information will be sent home during 2nd semester.

    Grades:  K-5 (all students)

    Meeting Days:  Thursdays (7:15 AM- 8:00 AM)  (Starting on April 11, 2024)

    Description:  Students will learn about pollinating plants and how they help the environment!

  • Team Cuisine (Mulberry's Cooking Club)- 1st, 2nd & 3rd

    Description:  Do you enjoy cooking? Well, join Dr. Yearby and Ms. Blakely as they assist you with preparing some tasty treats!

    Team Cuisine members will be expected to follow Mulberry’s SOAR behavior expectations during each session.  

    Registration: During 2nd Semester:  Go online to mypaymentsplus.com beginning February 2nd at 7:00 PM. There is a limit of 30 students in the club (10 slots per grade level-1st, 2nd, and 3rd), so admittance will be based on first come first serve.   • FLL Robotics- Explore Team (2nd & 3rd)

    This is a 2nd semester club.  More information will be sent home during 2nd semester.

    Description: Do you enjoy building, designing and working with a team to create Robots using LEGOs? This Team might be for you!

    This year’s FIRST LEGO League challenge is called MASTERPIECE. Children will learn about how people’s passion for the arts are shared through STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math). During each session, they will experience the engineering design process. There is no set order for this process, and they may go through each part several times in a single session. This means that during a session, children will be exploring the theme and ideas, creating solutions, testing them, iterating and changing them, and then sharing what they’ve learned with others.

  • Art and Drawing Club (2nd, 3rd)

    This is a 2nd semester club.  More information will be sent home during 2nd semester.

    Grades: 2nd and 3rd

    Meeting Days:  Thursday mornings, 7:15-7:45 AM in Mrs. Garrett's Classroom

       This will take place in the 2nd Semester:  March 14, 21, 28 & April 11

    Description:  Students will have the opportunity to practice directed drawings and create coordinating crafts surrounding popular characters and themes from shows, books, and musicians!

  • Drama Club (3rd, 4th, & 5th)

    Grades: 3rd, 4th, & 5th

    All parents who are interested in signing their student up for drama club must attend an informational meeting on Wednesday September 13th at 4:00pm in the Mulberry cafeteria. We will go over all the details at the meeting. The sign-ups will not be available online until after the meeting. Feel free to bring your student with you.

    • Drama club is for 3rd-5th graders.
    • The Drama Club fee for this year is $35.
    • The performance will be in April.

  • Knitting Club (3rd-5th)

    Grades: 3rd, 4th, & 5th

    Meeting Days:  Tuesdays, 7:45-8:15 AM

       This will take place in the 1st Semester: October 3, 10, 17, 24, 31     November 7, 14

    Description:  Knit! Knit! Hooray! Calling all 2nd-4th graders! If you are interested in learning how to knit and using those skills to create a cool project, this club is right for you!

    Registration: Go online to mypaymentsplus.com. (Registration begins on September 15th)

    Cost:  $25 for material costs (covers t-shirt, knitting needles, and yarn)

  • Wittzle Pro (4th, 5th)

    Description:  Witzzle Pro is for students who enjoy solving number puzzles. The children will be challenged to use critical thinking skills while playing a challenging game of speed “number crunching.” Students will also have the opportunity to participate in one or more Witzzle Pro tournaments.

    GradesOpen to all Fourth, and Fifth graders  3rd Graders will have the chance to join in January.

    The club will meet in Ms. Nevius’ classroom each Wednesday morning 7:15 to 7:45 a.m.

  • FLL Lego League Robotics (4th & 5th)

    Grades:  4th & 5th Grades

    Meeting Days:   Meet Mondays and Wednesdays after school 3:00 -4:00 beginning in September through competition in December.  Final competition day will be on a Saturday (TBD)

    Description: Attention 4th-5th Grade robotics enthusiasts! We're thrilled to announce the launch of our exciting First Lego League Robotics Club.This engaging club offers a fantastic opportunity for students to explore the world of robotics through hands-on Lego projects and creative problem-solving. To join in on the fun, interested students must complete the application by September 20th. 

    Registration: Application Only-10 students from 4th and 5th grade. Students need to ask your teacher for an application.  

    Deadline for applications:  All applications are due by September 20th!

    Cost:  $20

    Grades:  Fourth & Fifth graders (Open to any 4th or 5th grader)

  • 3D Printing Club (4th & 5th)

    This is a 2nd semester club.  More information will be sent home during 2nd semester.

    Grades: 4th and 5th

    Meeting Days: Meet Mondays and Wednesday afternoons 3:00-4:00 beginning April 15th through May 20th.

    Description: Students who join this club will have an opportunity to immerse themselves in the field of STEM.  During our meetings, students will engage in designing and prototyping solutions to challenges presented each week.  We will learn several engineering as well as 3D printing principals as we find solutions to real world problems we face.  In addition, students will have an opportunity to work on their own 3D projects as well.

  • Readers Rally (4th & 5th)

    Grades: 4th & 5th Graders who qualify- Team limited to 10 members.  Practice is open to students who are interested in trying out for the final 10 in December

    Meeting Days: Thursdays during lunch or recess

    Description:  Do you like to read? Readers Rally is a quiz bowl style competition for students in 4th & 5th grade. Students read books from a predetermined list and answer questions about those books. Each Gwinnett County school may send one team of up to 10 players to the Readers Rally

    Registration: Obtain the book list from the Mulberry website so you can read the selected books, then tryouts are in September

  • Mulberry STEM Exhibition (K-5)

    Description & Activities: 

    We are excited to bring back the science fair to MES! It is now called "STEM Exhibition". Your child should have received this yellow flyer today with important information.

    The commitment form is a Google form that families will need to complete by Friday, October 13th.

    Some things that have been updated are:

    • Students will use the

      Design Thinking Process- Define, Empathize, Ideate, Prototype, and Test.

    • Students have the choice between a digital notebook (G Slides) or a printed copy to keep track of their progress.

    • A traditional tri-fold board is accepted as wells as digital presentations (Scratch or G Slides)

    MES Stem Exhibition

  • Student Council (4th & 5th)

    Description & Activities:  Student Council provides a unique opportunity for fourth and fifth grade students to learn leadership skills and participate in an important democratic process. Fifth grade students may campaign for positions as officers on the Student Council, and both fourth and fifth graders may run for class representative positions.

    Members are expected to demonstrate exemplary behavior, work habits, and attendance. Student council members receive specific leadership training. They build communication and mediation skills and participate in several school-wide initiatives, including charity giving, and modeling leadership habits.

  • Falcon Morning News Crew (5th)

    Description:

    Fifth grade students will have the opportunity to train and produce the morning broadcast. Every fifth grader will have an opportunity to take part with the morning broadcast. Our morning news crew consists of news anchors, Chef Antonio, camera operators, sound mixer, floor director, teleprompter, and story board mixer.

    Meeting Dates: 

    Every morning 8:00 AM to 8:25 AM Students are chosen by the teacher to participate in the news crew based on the fifth grade rotation.

  • Mulberry Student Ambassadors (5th)

    Description:

    Mulberry Elementary School Student Ambassadors are 5th grade student leaders who have been selected to assist staff in welcoming students and guests into our school and ensuring their safety and comfort. These students show leadership skills and act as role models for other students in our school. Ambassadors are chosen at the end of the 4th grade. In order to be considered for selection, students must fill out an application form, which includes a short essay. Students are chosen based on current leadership skills as observed by their teachers as well as those who show the potential and motivation to develop and strengthen their skills as leaders during the year.

    The responsibilities of Mulberry Student Ambassadors include but are not limited to:

    • Safety Patrols – Students will serve as Safety Patrols during arrival and dismissal every morning and afternoon, helping faculty and staff ensure that all students are safe during those times.
    • Peer Leaders - During special school events, students will serve as a welcoming presence at Mulberry, providing directions and support to our guests, faculty and staff. Peer Leaders will also provide support to teachers during dismissal.
