General Information, Health & Safety Guidelines, & Procedures for Student Drop-off & Pick-up
Maxwell High School of Technology (MHST) is excited to welcome back our middle school students for Summer Adventures. The Summer Adventures dates are May 28 through May 31, 2024.
General Information
- Students will need to wear closed-toe shoes.
- Breakfast/Lunch will not be provided; we suggest packing snacks, lunch, and/or a water bottle for your child. Students will have access to the vending machines during class breaks. Vending machine prices start at $1.75 cash or card.
- Transportation is not provided.
- Special education & ESOL services are not provided.
Health & Safety Information
- A clinic aid will be on campus during the day.
- All absences should be reported to MHST’s Summer Adventures Coordinator, Mrs. Jennifer Serrano (jennifer.serrano@gcpsk12.org) or 678-518-6630.
Student Drop-off and Pick-up Procedures
- We appreciate your compliance with all procedures in order to safely get our students on and off campus.
- Student drop-off and pick-up will be located at the back side of Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science and Technology (GSMST) at 970 McElvaney Ln NW Lawrenceville, GA 30044
- Drop-off will be from 7:45 AM until 8:00 AM. Student pick-up is at 12:00 PM.
- Please make every effort to be on time during the morning drop-off. After 8:00 AM, please call the MHST front desk number at: 770-963-6838.
- Drop-off and Pick-up traffic is single file the entire way.
- Drop off: Wed-Fri there will be two single file lanes
- Left Lane: Maxwell Summer Adventures
- Right Lane: GSMST 9th Grade Orientation
- Pick Up: Look for signs with your student’s program area designation.
- If you have multiple students, they should all be picked up in one location - please choose one program area and keep it consistent daily.
- Students will exit or enter their vehicle within the designated areas.
- Parents must remain in their vehicles during student drop-off and pick-up.
- Staff will be directing traffic and students. Please follow their directions.
IMPORTANT
- On Tuesday, you will be given a Maxwell Windshield Display. Please display this on the windshield at drop-off Weds.-Fri. morning.
- GSMST is hosting a 9th grade orientation Weds.-Fri., and there will be a separate line for Maxwell students in the LEFT lane. You should not be routed along the serpentine line. There will be a staff member directing MHST and GSMST traffic.
Drop-Off Procedures: Weds.-Fri.
- Display your Maxwell Windshield Display.
- Follow staff/signage and stay in the LEFT LANE to drop off.
- Students will exit the car and enter the parking lot on the left to find their Maxwell program/teacher. Students should not cross the street to the building side.
- Reminder: ALL MAXWELL TRAFFIC SHOULD STAY IN THE LEFT LANE.

Pick-Up Procedures: Tues.-Fri.
- All traffic will be routed along the serpentine lines as shown in the second image, below.
- Traffic will be split into two lanes, left and right. You will choose which lane to join by the program your child is in.
- If you have multiple children, please tell all children to be in ONE program’s pick-up area; use that same program daily.
