*Therapeutic Services (Healthcare) will only be available to 11th-12th grade students due to age restrictions. If you do not see Therapeutic Services in your list of available programs, and you are a rising 11th or 12th grade student, please talk to your counselor.

2025-2026 Registration Dates
- January 10, 2025: Application opens
- February 21, 2025: The Maxwell Program Application will temporarily close in preparation for the lottery. The application will then reopen for programs with availability.
- February 27, 2025: Open House 5:00-7:00pm
- March 3-13, 2025: Lottery/Selection process for Maxwell
- March 14, 2025: Students will receive an acceptance letter through their GCPS student Gmail account.
- March 17, 2025: Maxwell Program Application opens for late registration.
- July 25, 2025: Maxwell Program Application closes for the 2025-2026 school year. No new applications will be accepted after this date.
Other information:
- Once the graduating school releases individual student schedules for the next year, students may view their Maxwell class on StudentVue.
- Maxwell students will receive a program letter by the end of July with details regarding fees, uniforms, etc. in their GCPS student Gmail account.
- Maxwell follows the GCPS calendar and the first day of school will be the same as the student's graduating school.
Annual Timeline:
- Application site will be open January - July.
- Lottery occurs in early March
- Programs that have more applications than spots available will be entered into a Lottery Program.

Who Can Apply to Maxwell?
GCPS Academy High School Students
At the time of application:
- be a current freshman, sophomore, or junior enrolled in a GCPS Academy high school with a minimum of 4 credits
At the time you start Maxwell:
- have a minimum of 7 credits, including 1 unit each of language arts, mathematics, and science and,
- be on track for graduation from high school.
GCPS Non-Academy High School Students
At the time of application:
- be a current sophomore or junior, enrolled in a GCPS non-Academy high school with a minimum of 8 credits
At the time you start Maxwell:
- have a minimum of 11 credits, including 2 units of language arts, mathematics, and science, and
- be on track for graduation from high school.

What credits do I earn at Maxwell?
Students from all GCPS high schools may obtain three concentrated units of credit in a CTAE Pathway by successfully completing a Maxwell program.
In addition, Maxwell offers embedded academic courses for graduation credit in language arts, math and science. All Maxwell programs offer Board of Regents (BOR) credit in one of the academic areas of language arts, math or science.
Successful completion of all pathway courses first semester is required for second semester attendance.

Maxwell Bell Schedule and Transportation
AM Period
7:45 AM - 10:15 AMPM Period
11:10 AM - 1:40 PMStudents attend Maxwell for half of a school day and their graduating school for the other half.
GCPS provides bus transportation to & from each high school to Maxwell.
Students may also drive to Maxwell - see the Parking Permits section under Parents/Students for more details and the cost of a permit.
