Maxwell Students WIN at SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference

Kylie Loyal and Christopher Powell Take Home Bronze in 3-D Visualization and Animation

Atlanta, Georgia – June 2023 – Maxwell High School of Technology students Kylie Loyal and Christopher Powell have brought home a bronze medal from the SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference. The duo competed in the 3-D Visualization and Animation category, where they were tasked with creating a 3-D animation using industry-standard software.

Loyal and Powell are in the Animation and Digital Media Pathway at Maxwell High School. This one-year program takes students through a three-year course in one year. Their hard work paid off at the SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference, where they were up against some of the best high school animators in the country. They were judged on their creativity, technical skills, and ability to communicate their ideas effectively.

"We are so proud of Kylie and Christopher for their outstanding accomplishment," said Dr. Jeff Hall, principal of Maxwell High School of Technology. "This is a testament to their hard work and dedication to their craft."

Loyal and Powell said they were excited to represent Maxwell High School of Technology at the national competition. They said they learned a lot from the experience and are looking forward to pursuing careers in a field similar to animation.
