Enrichment Opportunities for Students with Previous Experience
GMEA All State - All-State Orchestra is a statewide event that culminates in a weekend rehearsal and concert series in Athens, GA. Students who choose to participate will be asked to perform a required etude, list of scales and sight-reading for two rounds of auditions. This information will be given to students within the first few weeks of school, with the exception of sight reading material that will not be given out since it is not supposed to be prepared. All- State is a highly competitive event. Private lessons are strongly encouraged for students that wish to pursue the All-State experience. The district audition is the first step towards the All-State Weekend. If a student “passes” the first audition, the student will be invited to participate in the final audition.
GMEA Solo and Ensemble - This Georgia Music Educator’s Association (GMEA) event is not required, but strongly encouraged for students with prior experience.
