    What is this assessment? 

    The PSAT 8/9 is a test given in Gwinnett in 8th grade that helps determine what students need to work on most so that they are ready for college when they graduate from high school. 

    Why is my child taking this assessment? 

    The PSAT 8/9 is meant to give students an idea of their college and career readiness. It also gives students a chance to preview the SAT and the PSAT/NMSQT.

    What happens if my student is late or absent on 10/29? 

    They will not have an opportunity to take the PSAT; there are no make-ups

    Stduents will be taking the iReady diagnostic assessments in August, January, and May. 

    They will need to bring their Chromebooks, chargers, AND headphones that can connect to their Chromebooks.

  • GA STATE ASSESSMENTS

    Georgia Milestones Assessment System


    All students will be given Language Arts and Math assessments. Students in eighth grade are also assessed in Science and Social Studies.  In addition, any student enrolled in Enhanced Mathematics is also required to take the Georgia Milestones End of Course (EOC) test. 

    Testing will take place each day between 9:15am and 11:30am.  Please avoid checking your student out during this time.  If you are unable to avoid appointments during the testing time, it would be best to miss the testing session and take the test during a makeup session. 

    Students must bring their fully charged Chromebook to school each day, so please remind your student to charge it each night before testing. Students should also bring their charger every day. 

    Please have students eat a good dinner and get plenty of rest each night before testing and wake up and eat a good breakfast.

    The schedule is as follows:

    • April 22-24: Language Arts EOG (all grades)
    • April 25-26: Mathematics EOG (all grades)
    • April 30: Science EOG (8th grade only)
    • May 1: Social Studies EOG (8th grade only)
    • May 2-3: Mathematics EOC (8th grade ENH MA only)

    2023-24 Middle School Census Field Test Content Domains

    The purpose of this document is to provide guidance to teachers in planning instruction to prepare
    students for the Census Field Test for the 2023-2024 school year. Middle school writing prompts are
    developed to allow students to demonstrate mastery of the Gwinnett County AKS. The 6th grade
    Gwinnett Writes Assessment will include ONE of the POSSIBLE options from EACH of the content
    domains and AKS provided below.


    The student will select ONE topic from the choice board. The choice is made prior to seeing the full
    prompt and may not be changed once the choice is submitted and the assessment has begun.
