Hi, I am Chenita Hurt. I have over 20 years of teaching experience in GCPS. I have the pleasure of teaching Computer Science (CS) Specials to ALL of the Jackson Lions! What do the students do in CS Specials? Students learn about algorithms, write programs, code, and participate in Hour of Code, all while using devices like Lego Spike, Ozobots, and Bee Bots, to name a few! My goal is to teach students to have fun while learning, to 'push through' if it gets too hard, and to inspire all of our students to become future engineers, roboticists, programmers, web designers, app builders, and entrepreneurs creating new jobs! #pushthrough #ibelieveinyou #believeinyourself

PE is a part of the total school curriculum, which uniquely focuses on the physical development of the child through emotional, intellectual, and social needs. Our main focus includes:

1. Psychomotor development through physical activities and skill development.
2. Cognitive development in sports, games, dance, and fitness using many forms of assessment.
3. Affective development in co-ed classes and cooperative games, sportsmanship, teamwork, building responsibility/accountability, and effort.

Our goal is to encourage children to be physically active, educate them on “why” they should be physically fit, and help them find a sport/activity in which they can participate in for a lifetime of enjoyment and health. Our PE program focuses on a variety of physical activities.
