    Welcome back to school! My name is Ms. Capers and I am so excited to be your child’s school counselor this year. I am the new counselor for Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade! I am from Lawrenceville, GA. I have my Master’s in School counseling from Liberty University. I am excited for the school year and look forward to offering your child short term Solution focused individual support, classroom guidance, and referrals when needed.

  • Hey Champions! My name is Katie Timmons, Professional School Counselor for grades 3-5. This is my second year here at Chesney Elementary, and I am so happy to see all of your familiar faces again! I grew up here in Gwinnett County in the Peachtree Ridge cluster and attended the University of Georgia for my Bachelor's in Psychology (Go Dawgs!!). I earned my Master's of Education in School Counseling at Georgia State University. 
     
    My goal as a School Counselor is to help students develop the social/emotional and academic skills they need to be successful and happy as they grow up! I strive to ensure that each and every student feels safe, respected, and supported to meet their needs as equity is very important to me. I use trama-informed counseling techniques to make my students feel comfortable so they are free to have fun and be a kid!
