What is PBIS?

  • PBIS logo words Ready, Respectful, Responsible in a circle around Brookwood Colts horseshoe and PBIS Positive Behaviorial Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is a school-wide behavior system that focuses on establishing a climate in which appropriate behavior is the norm.  Expectations are taught, modeled, acknowledged, monitored, and then retaught as necessary. At Brookwood Elementary, PBIS focuses on all students being respectful, responsible, and ready.  The three R’s are expected in all settings of the school as evidenced on the school-wide behaviorial matrix. 

    Mission Statement and Goals

    The mission of the Brookwood Elementary PBIS Team is to explicitly teach expected student behaviors, re-teaching when necessary, and consistently recognize positive behavior throughout the school.
