Robotics

  • Mission/Purpose

The GSMST Robotics program is an integral extension of two of the three academic pillars of the Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science, and Technology. We support the education of students in engineering and emerging technologies. Thus, GSMST’s Robotics focuses on exciting and inspiring other students in the field of robotics. The program also looks out into the larger community to introduce other students to the field of robotics. This is accomplished through demonstration of the educational value of a STEM curriculum. Robotics students and teams are encouraged to support robotics learning in other elementary and middle schools through after-school programs and learning camps.

We offer Vex and First Robotics at GSMST.

    Planned Activities

Robotics isn’t about winning. It’s easy to get caught up in all the gears and sprockets, but competition isn’t what robotics is about. Robotics is about the journey that each student takes to learn something new and build ideas. It’s also about the community. As a program, we are fortunate to have a big community that has provided many resources for us to use. Beyond our school, robotics members should try to reach out to the community and get them excited about robotics. Remember, it’s not all about winning or losing. It’s about showing and proving to others that you really will use STEM knowledge in the careers of tomorrow.
