    We honor and recognize all nationalities here at Ferguson Elementary. We culminated our Hispanic Heritage month celebration with a student parade. Students from many countries dressed up to represent their Hispanic heritage. See pictures and video below.

  • Book Fair

    Scholastic Book Fairs

    Description of Activity:
    Twice a year, in the Fall and Spring, the media center hosts the Scholastic Book Fair. Each class visits the book fair where students may purchase items to read!

  • Ferguson Engagement Nights

    Description of Activity:
    Ferguson is providing parents' workshops to train parents and families in different components of school life.  

    September 13, 2022: Attendance, Social and Emotional Learning, Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports.

  • STEAM Night and Forte Performance

                       

    Description of Activity:
    Parents and students can enjoy our very own Forte performance. Parents and students can also participate in various STEAM activities throughout the school building.

  • International Night

           

    Description of Activity:
    We honor and celebrate the cultures and nationalities of our students and staff members. Each grade level chooses a country to represent during International Night. Parents and teachers work together to create activities and food dishes that represent their select country. Our community comes together to celebrate with each other on this special celebration.

  • Art Club

    Purpose and Description of Club:

    The purpose of Art Club is to inspire and recognize those 4th and 5th grade students who have shown an outstanding ability in art and want to showcase their talents.

  • Ferguson Flag Crew Club

    Purpose and Description of Club:
    These students are nominated by their teacher as being students who are respectful, responsible, and role-models. Each morning they assist Mr. Hall with the flag each morning. 

  • First Lego League (FLL) Robotics & Problem Solving/Research Team

    Date and Time: Wednesdays from 3:45 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. for select participants from August 24th through December 7, 2022.

    Purpose and Description of Club:
    Selected members (through an application process) of ten 4th and 5th graders will work together as a team to prepare for and compete in the FLL competition in December. In early fall, FLL releases a challenge, which is based on a real-world scientific topic. Each challenge has three parts: the Robot Game, the Project, and the FLL Core Values. Teams of up to ten children, with one adult coach, participate in the Challenge by programming an autonomous robot to score points on a themed playing field (Robot Game), developing a solution to a problem they have identified (Project), all guided by the FLL Core Values. Teams may then choose to attend an official tournament, hosted by one of our operational partners.

    Purpose and Description of Club:
    We help kids play, learn, and grow through gardening. The club provides opportunities for children to work cooperatively with other children while learning new skills and information. 

  • News Show - FYI

    Purpose and Description of Club:
    Open to teacher-recommended 5th graders who demonstrate responsible behavior in the classroom, fluent reading, interest in technology, ability to follow directions, and work cooperatively in a group. These 5th graders will work in teams of 7-9 students each 7-8 weeks to produce our school's closed-circuit live morning news show. Students rotate through production jobs such as: chroma key/green screen, sound boardvideo mixer, PowerPoint computer, teleprompter, and on-air speaking parts.

  • Principal's Elite Club

    Purpose and Description of Club:
    The Principal's Elite Club focuses on teaching students to be leaders in their school and community. Students will take field trips throughout the school year, work on service projects, and complete leadership studies. Students have to be nominated by their 5th grade teacher to be part of the Principal's Elite Club.

  • Readers Rally

    Purpose and Description of Club:
    Love to read and discuss books? Readers Rally is an opportunity for 4th and 5th grade readers to excel as well as stretch their comprehension skills. Our club of dedicated readers will form the basis of the Ferguson Readers Rally team that will compete in the County Readers Rally Meet in February. Students will read ten pre-determined books and answer questions in a quiz bowl-type competition.

    The Gwinnett Readers Rally is a quiz bowl style competition for students in grades 4–12. Students read books from a predetermined list and answer questions about those books. Each Gwinnett County school may send one team of up to 10 players to the Readers Rally.

  • Safety Patrol

    Purpose and Description of Club:
    Safety Patrol is a select group of 5th grade students that help monitor the hallways during arrival and dismissal time. These students must apply to join the safety patrol and are chosen by a team of teachers. Safety patrol students meet monthly for training before school and work daily during arrival and dismissal.     Purpose and Description of Club: 
    The mission of the Ferguson Elementary Student Council is to encourage a safe and fun learning environment for our school. Our leadership will model responsibility, respect, and being role models for others, as well as enhancing active communication and participation among all students at Ferguson. We accomplish this goal by working together to demonstrate leadership qualities to create a positive environment where all students feel a sense of belonging and are capable of success.

    Purpose and Description of Club:
    The Ferguson Forte is our school music club. It is open to students in 4th and 5th grade who want to make music. The Forte meets every Thursday morning at 7:45 a.m. from September 1st through December 1st. Practice each week will be working towards a performance on November 17th.
