North Metro Academy of Performing Arts is officially a PBIS school. PBIS stands for Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports, and it is a framework designed to help schools focus on the positive behaviors that our students display daily. A huge part of PBIS is creating a positive school climate where students, parents, and staff feel comfortable and eager to come to school every day.
As part of PBIS, we have created our school-wide expectations, which will follow students from Kindergarten through 5th grade. At NMAPA, we expect students to be Respectful, Responsible, & Safe every day! These expectations are posted throughout our school so that students may refer to them at different locations and times of the day. Please ask your child what they already know about these expectations and hear their explanations of it first-hand!
Every nine weeks, we celebrate students with a PBIS party where they can cash in their Eagle Bucks, which they earn by following our expectations.
