• DUAL ENROLLMENT

    ​​Georgia’s Dual Enrollment program allows high school students (9th – 12th grade) to earn college credit while working on their high school diploma. The Dual Enrollment program covers tuition. An eligible Dual Enrollment student may enroll and receive Dual Enrollment funding for a maximum of 15 semester or 12 quarter hours per term. The goal of Dual Enrollment is to increase college access and completion, and prepare students to enter the workforce with the skills they need to succeed.

  • Steps to Dual Enrollment

    1. Student should meet with his/her counselor to express interest in Dual Enrollment program.

    2. Student should register to take SAT or ACT and send score(s) electronically to the Dual Enrollment institution that he/she plans to participate.

    3. Student should visit GA Futures and submit an electronic high school transcript to the Dual Enrollment institution.

    4. Student must apply and be accepted to a participating eligible post-secondary institution (University System of Georgia, Technical College System of Georgia or private institutions).

    5. Students attending an eligible public or private high school must complete the online Dual Enrollment funding application. Students that do not have a Social Security number must complete the hard copy Dual Enrollment funding application.

    6. Student should view Dual Enrollment course directory and identify the courses offered at the Dual Enrollment institution prior to meeting with NHS Dual Enrollment Coordinator. After viewing courses offered, complete the Student Participation Agreement Form found on the institution's website.

    7. Student should schedule an appointment to meet with the NHS Dual Enrollment Coordinator.

    8. Students must make progress toward graduation and completion of their Individual Graduation Plan to participate in the Dual Enrollment program.
