Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports Gwinnett County Public Schools
  • We are ready.
    We are respectful.
    We are responsible.

As part of our PBIS process, teachers and other staff members use the discipline data we accumulate to develop evidence-based practices to increase student learning and decrease classroom disruptions. We have incentives to encourage students to adopt the expectations in a positive manner.  We look forward to sharing more with you and your student for the 2019-2020 school year.

  • What is PBIS?

PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions Support) is a framework that will give Gwin Oaks Elementary School unified school expectations. Similar to the Gwin Oaks Elementary School Handbook, these rules will define our expectations for behavior in our school. You will see these expectations posted throughout the school and your child will be learning them during his or her first days at school. Our unified school expectations, found in every classroom and non-classroom setting in the school, are as follows:

    Mission Statement and Goals

The mission of the Gwin Oaks Elementary PBIS Team is to explicitly teach expected student behaviors, re-teaching when necessary, and consistently recognize positive behavior throughout the school.
