  • Prom Guidelines

    Please review the rules below that are in place for Junior-Senior Prom at the Forsyth Conference Center at Lanier Tech on Saturday, May 4th, 2024. Please be sure you understand them and are aware of the consequences if you do not abide by them.

    1. Photo ID (Driver’s License, School ID, Learners Permit, etc) will be required upon check-in.
    2. Prom will end promptly at 10:00 pm. You must have a ride at Lanier Tech by 10:00 pm.
    3. Suggestive or inappropriate dancing will not be allowed at all. This is a school-sponsored event. Please understand you WILL be asked to leave if you cannot dance appropriately.
    4. No excessively revealing (front and/or back) or short dresses will be allowed. If you think your dress is in violation of this dress code, please bring a picture with you wearing the dress to an administrator’s office.
    5. Gentlemen—jackets and ties are required. Shirts must be worn at all times.
    6. No glow sticks or open containers of any kind will be allowed.
    7. This is a school-sponsored event; therefore, all GCPS and Lanier High School rules apply.
    8. Students must be present for half the school day on Friday, May 3rd, 2024, in order to be able to attend Prom on Saturday, May 4th, 2024.
    9. Students who are suspended or expelled during this time are not allowed to attend any GCPS school function, including Prom.
    10. Lanier High School students who are planning to bring a date that does not attend Lanier High School to the dance are responsible for sharing this information with their date.

    Ensure that you have read through the above guidelines and discussed them with your parents.

    I understand that I must follow all of the above rules or I could be asked to leave the Prom.

    If you are bringing any guest to prom, you must complete the form below. This form must be brought to school, with a copy of the guest's ID, when tickets are picked up.

  • General Information

    Who can attend the prom?
    Prom is a dance for any junior or senior who has purchased a prom ticket on MyPaymentsPlus.  Everyone else must purchase a ticket on MyPaymentsPlus.

    When is the dance?
    The dance is Saturday, May 4th from 7-10 pm. The prom will end promptly at 10:00 pm. You must have a ride at Lanier Tech to pick you up no later than 10:00 pm.

    Where is the dance?
    Prom will be held at Lanier Tech.

    What can I use for a photo ID at check-in?
    You can use a school ID (this year or last year), Driver’s License, or Learner’s Permit. If you don’t have one of these, go to the media center to get them to print your student information.

  • Tickets

    How much are tickets?
    Tickets are currently $60 on MyPaymentsPlus.

    Ticket prices will increase to $80 on April 1st, 2024.

    What if my date does not attend a Gwinnett County Public School?
    All dates need to complete a permission form. Current high school students need to get parent and administrator signatures. Forms are due prior to picking up tickets.

    Where do I buy a ticket?
    On MyPaymentsPlus

    What is the last date to buy a prom ticket?
    The last day to pay is April 30th, 2024.

    When do I pick up my ticket?

    All ticket pick up will be May 1st and 2nd  during all lunches. Students cannot pick up tickets for other students. You must pay off all student fines before picking up your ticket. There will be no ticket purchases after April 30th and no ticket pick-ups after May 2nd.

  • Prom Court

    How can I nominate someone for Prom Court?
     Nominations will be made on eCLASS the week of April 22-26. Only seniors can be nominated for prom court.

    When do we vote?
    Voting takes place at prom.

     

    How will I know if I am on the prom court?
     The top 3 nominees will be announced on April 29th.

  • Dance Behavior and Dress Code

    What is the dress code?
    Ladies - no excessively revealing (front and/or back) or short dresses will be allowed. If you think your dress is in violation of this dress code, please bring a picture with you wearing the dress to an administrator’s office.

    What is the attendance policy?
     Students must be present for half the school day on Friday, May 3rd in order to be able to attend the dance on Saturday, May 4th. There will be an attendance roster at the door to check this information. Students who are suspended or expelled during this time are not allowed to attend any GCPS school function, including Prom.

    How much is parking?
    Parking is free at Lanier Tech. More specific parking information will be provided soon.
