  • Boys Basketball

    Faculty Sponsor(s):  Head coach - Mr. Johnathon Burton     Assistant coach - Mr. DJ Rogers

    Meeting Information: Mr Burton's Room (E-Wing) and Upper/Lower Gym, Mondays through Thursdays at 4:45 PM

    Purpose: To develop basketball skills and improve as a player. To learn "life lessons" that have value beyond the basketball court.

    Dues/Membership: Yes; 7th and 8th graders with a current physical; pass 5 out of 6 classes and in good disciplinary status; must pay fees and dues by the given deadline

    Meeting Information: TBD (Tryouts will begin in January; The season runs February through April)

    Purpose: To unlock our students' full potential as scholar-athletes, develop top-notch skills, and become the best version of ourselves.

    Dues/Membership: 6th, 7th and 8th graders with a current physical; pass 5 out of 6 classes and in good disciplinary status; must pay fees and dues by the given deadline

    Purpose: Creating a positive and uplifting atmosphere for the CMS Boys and Girls athletic programs.

  • Cross Country

    Meeting Information: Monday through Thursday 4:45 - 5:30pm

    Purpose: Creekland Eagles Cross Country Team promotes academic and athletic excellence in order to compete in the sport of Cross Country Running.

    Dues/Membership: Season dues are $250.  More information can be found at www.creeklandxc.com

  • Dance Team

    Meeting Information: Practices are Monday, Wednesday and Friday – Lower Gym @ 4:30pm to 5:45pm 

    Purpose: Our goal is to grow as dancers, performers, and people and bring spirit to CMS Basketball games and other events.

    Dues/Membership: Yes, students must be passing 5 out of 6 classes to participate; sports physicals; dancers may be restricted from performing due to poor attendance or bad behavior. See audition packet for additional information.

  • Girls Basketball

    Meeting Information: Practices are held in the upper gym from 7:15-8:40 AM.

    Purpose: To develop student athletes into positive leaders in the school community and while teaching them sportsmanship and teamwork.

  • Intramurals Fall & Spring

    Faculty Sponsor(s): Coach Ricket & Coach Huynh

    Meeting Information: Fall (8/16/22-10/11/22) and Spring (3/7/23-5/16/23) for 9 weeks, Tuesdays 6th grade, Wednesdays 7th grade and Thursdays 8th grade. Students need to enter the building in the lower gym lobby at 8:00.  ALL students need to be in the upper gym by 8:10.  

    Purpose: To allow students the opportunity to develop physical skills while learning to work collaboratively; the program offers students a variety of activities that can be played before the school day begins

    Dues/Membership: No; participants must wear appropriate shoes for play on the gym floor as well as school-approved clothing. Students are expected to demonstrate good sportsmanship and conduct at all times. Students who create problems due to conduct, bad sportsmanship, etc. will be banned from participation in this program.

  • Volleyball

    Meeting Information:  Tuesdays & Thursdays, 4:30-6pm, Lower Gym

    Purpose: The mission of the Creekland Girls Volleyball Club is to provide students an atmosphere in which they grow as individuals and athletes, learning and increasing their skills in volleyball in preparation for advance play. 

    Dues/Membership: Practice T-Shirts: $10 each 2 per person, Miscellaneous Cost: $10 per person

    Meeting Information: 1st Meeting will be September 20; Every Wednesday 4:45-5:45 PM in the Upper Gym

    Purpose: A boy's group to create a safe environment to help young boys grow in confidence and self-esteem.  We will provide mentorship, coaching, and community involvement to foster healthy relationships and promote maturity through brother-hood.

    Dues/Membership: Yes; To cultivate a safe and welcoming environment the following rules must be followed:  

    • Be respectful to yourself and others. 
    • No bullying of any kind. 
    • Be willing to learn and try new things. 
    • Be welcoming and inclusive with your club brothers. 
    • Show gratitude and thankfulness. 
    • Be trustworthy.
    • Always hold yourself and others accountable.

  • Book Club

    Meeting Information: once or twice a month before school; lower Media Center

    Purpose: Talk about books. Debate books. Celebrate books and readers.

  • Chess Club

    Meeting Information: Tuesday mornings at 8:00 AM in room 1.279 C wing (next to the computer lab)

    Purpose: Chess club is a place to meet new friends who also enjoy chess! Basic instruction will be given for students new to the game.

  • Eagle Action News Broadcast Club

    Faculty Sponsor(s): Ms. Carrie Card, Ms. Catherine Cawley, and Mrs. Pittman

    Meeting Information: Daily @ 8:50 am in the lower media center (broadcast room)

    Purpose: Students will produce and report announcements at the beginning of each school day; this includes not only the regular morning announcements but also producing short videos about happenings in the school

    Dues/Membership: No; dedicated and dependable students who can and will report to the TV studio promptly each day and conduct themselves in a manner appropriate to a representative of the Creekland school family. Application process.

  • German Club

    Meeting Information: One Frider per month, 8:00am, C1.291 (German classroom)

    Dates: Sept 27, Oct 25, Nov 22, Dec 20, Jan 31, Feb 28, Mar 28, Apr 25, May 16

    Purpose: To further student interest and involvement in language and cultural learning in German; to make friends and practice speaking with other students; to have fun! 

    Dues/Membership: An interest in German, $10 per student dues to cover snacks/materials for activities

    Dues/Membership: Yes; To cultivate a safe and welcoming environment the following rules must be followed:

    • Come prepared to every club meeting. 
    • Bring a smile, and positivity.

  • Honor Eagles Winds Band Ensemble

    Purpose: This is an extension of band that challenges the students to more advanced music and has the 7th and 8th graders play as one ensemble.

  • Robotics Club

    Meeting Information: Mondays & Wednesdays 4:30p - 5:30p in Mrs Tookes room# 1.384. 

    Purpose: The purpose of Creekland's Robotics Club is to assist students with developing organizational, time management, and teambuilding skills while coding robots.

  • Sign Language Club

    Faculty Sponsor(s): Mrs. Cathy Mendoza

    Meeting Information: Twice a month on Tuesdays, 4:30PM - 5:40PM in Rm 1.033 (D wing) Please check calendar for exact dates.  First meeting will be on September 19. 

    Purpose: The Creekland Middle School Sign Language Club works to increase awareness of American Sign Language (ASL) and Deaf Culture in our school and community. We offer a welcoming environment to all those who desire to learn or improve their signing skills through practice, lessons, activities, interaction, and performances, while developing relationships in the community.

    Purpose: The purpose is to serve as an official medium through which students' ideas and opinions may be presented for faculty and administrative actions, to serve as a governing body (under faculty supervision) for the development, promotion, and administration of student affairs, to give organized student support to educational, recreational, social, and charitable activities initiated and sponsored by the school, and thus form a closer relationship between the students, faculty, and administration.
