Notice of Non-Discrimination

  • Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, disability, or age in its programs, activities or employment practices and provides equal access to the Boy Scouts and other designated youth groups.

    GCPS is expressly prohibited from subjecting any person to discrimination or harassment on the basis of his/her membership in a protected class by the following laws: Title VI and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964; Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967; Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972; Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973; Age Discrimination Act of 1975; Title I and Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990; and Title II of the Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act of 2008. 

     

Equity and Compliance

  • Department of Equity and Compliance ensures the equitable administration of applicable federal, state, and GCPS regulations and laws impacting the GCPS community and fosters positive relationships between the school system and its students and employees.  The Department of Equity and Compliance also administers the complaint and appeal processes; investigates employee, student, and community complaints of discrimination or harassment; and processes accommodation requests.

    In addition, it facilitates compliance with legal requirements associated with Title VI and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act; Age Discrimination in Employment Act; Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972; Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act; Age Discrimination Act; Titles I and II of the Americans with Disabilities Act; and Title II of the Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act.
