• Introduction to Media Specialist

     
  • Hi there!
     
    My name is Lisa Mays and I am the media specialist of Patrick Elementary School. I have a genuine love for reading and have fallen head over heels for various genres in children's literature.
     
    Prior to becoming a media specialist, my love for teaching began in 1998. I started teaching in a rural area in south Georgia to the sweetest of kids. Shhh! -- Don't tell anyone, but teaching 3rd grade was my most favorite! Our classroom library sparked a love for organizing and reading. That love of literature grew into my role as a media specialist. And the rest as they say, is history! 

    Here are a few facts about me:

    • Favorite Candy: Snickers
    • Favorite Book: Bud, Not Buddy (with The Seven Wonders of Sassafras Springs as a close 2nd) 
    • Favorite Food: Chinese EVERYTHING!
    • Favorite Quote: It's never too late to be who you might have been.
     
    I'm excited about taking this reading adventure with you! It's amazing what we can discover when we open a book.
