    All students participating in a club or organization BEFORE school (8:00 AM - 8:50 AM) must be dropped off in the back of the school through the car rider lane. The sponsor will pick up the students from the gym.  

    All students participating in a club or organization AFTER school (4:30 PM - 6:00 PM) must be picked up at the front of the school by 6:00 PM

  • 6th Grade Student Ambassadors

    Information: 6th Grade Student Ambassadors are a group of students who demonstrate leadership qualities and want to build upon skills such as cooperation, responsibility and self-discipline. 6th Grade Ambassadors will work alongside the Peer Leaders to continue to step into leadership roles within the school.

    Information: Intramurals is for anyone who likes to be active.  We organize games and get playing. Intramurals is open to 6th-8th grade girls and boys. 

  • Jr. Patriots Red Competitive Volleyball Team

    Information: The Junior Patriots Volleyball Team is our competitive volleyball team that competes against other schools in a middle school volleyball league during the months of August & September. The students tryout in April of the current school year and practice over the summer to compete in matches in August/September

    Tryouts for this team will be held in April of each school year.

  • Junior Culture and Climate Council (JC3)

    Information: Students will collaborate and volunteer with different clubs and organizations to make the school a better place, while also being mentored in becoming better leaders for the future. They will act like student council for the school, as well as going to the school board meetings to represent the student body. They will also be helping with the promotion and planning of the school events. While being mentored, they will also have the opportunity to become mentors for their peers and lower grade levels. 

  • Junior Leadership Corps (JLC) Events

    Information:

    876th Sweetwater JLC Club is made up of JLC Cadets only.  We do community service projects such as the following: We compete in (3) JLC Raiders Meets in the Fall, which has 8 different team events & 2 individual events for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place trophies/ medals.  We march in 2 different parades: Veterans Day in the Atlanta Area & MLK Day in the Lawrenceville area and/ or cleaning projects. We also compete in 3 Drill Meets in the Spring, which has 5 team events and 2 individual events for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place trophies/ medals for team and individual events. The JLC Program conducts the Flag Detail for Sweetwater MS and conducts Color Guard Ceremonies for local school events, promotions,  and home basketball games at Berkmar HS. Finally, we usually finish the year with a Summer JLC Leadership Camp of 3 to 4 days; after the school year is done.

    Information: Peer Leadership is a student organization that is offered to 8th grade students who are respectful, responsible, self-disciplined, and have the potential to be great student leaders. Peer Leaders members will act as school ambassadors and help with various tasks such as Parent/Teacher Conferences, Math/Language Arts nights, rising 5th graders, and guides for new students arriving to Sweetwater. 

    Students who are interested are provided with an application and turn in a recommendation from their teachers.

  • Role Playing Games (RPG) Club

    Sponsors: Mr. Thomas Hartnett, Mr. Ben Richmond, Ms. Elizabeth Miller, Mr. Eric Morgan

    Information: RPG (Role Playing Game) club - where adventure awaits! Participants will play games like Dungeons and Dragons, create their own characters, use unique skills, magic, and items, and adventure through mythical lands, mysterious town, and spooky dungeons - all with paper and pencil!

  • SMS STEM Lego Club

    Sponsors: Ms. Laurethia Cleveland & Ms. Clarisa Rene-Kinshasa

    Information: The STEM Lego Club is a competition club for STEM students. The STEM students build Lego robots and code them to complete missions. The first practice is in September and the competition is in December.

    Information: The purpose of the Spanish club is to foster interest in the Hispanic Culture and to provide an opportunity to speak Spanish in an informal and fun setting and to learn more about the Hispanis world. All students are welcome to join!

  • VEX Robotics

    Students must have a ride home and must be picked up no later than 5:40 pm.

    VRC Information

    VEX competitions foster skills and capitalize on the motivational effects of competitions and robotics to help all students create an identity as a STEM learner.  VEX competitions are also a great way to expose students to valuable soft skills like communication, collaboration, and time management in a fun and authentic way.

    Information: Volleyball Club will serve as a learning opportunity for students who have an interest in volleyball and for those potentially trying out for the volleyball team at the high school level. Students will learn the basics of volleyball - passing, hitting, serving, rotations, etc. All students are encouraged and welcome to join! Come and be a part of the Sweetwater Volleyball Club!
