PTA Reflections Contest
The Head Elementary School PTA is excited to announce our call for entries for the 2024-2025 Reflections Arts Contest!
This year's theme is: "Accepting Imperfections"
Using inspiration from this year's theme, students in Pre-K through 5th grade can submit original entries to compete in 6 Reflections categories. The categories are:
- Visual Art (2D and 3D)
- Photography
- Literature
- Film Production
- Dance Choreography
- Music Composition
Entries will be judged at the local level and the top two student entries per category/grade level will move on for judging at the regional, state, and even national level. Entries are judged by 3 criteria - Interpretation of Theme (up to 40 points), Creativity (up to 30 points), and Technical Skill (up to 30 points). Scoring Criteria
How does this work?
- Students create an original work that meets the rules of the category they are entering (students may submit entries for multiple categories). Rules for each category can be found here.
- Complete a Student Entry Form for each entry and return it to school. The form will need to be fully completed including artist statement. The top portion will be completed by the PTA. If you need a hard copy of the form, please request via the Reflections email address.
- Parents submit entries digitally to reflections.heades.pta@gmail.com. Please note 3D Visual Art requires multiple picture angles.
When is the deadline?
Digital entries along with a fully completed student entry form must be received by Tuesday, October 15, 2024.
What happens next?
Entries will be judged digitally at the local level and top two winners per category/grade level will move on to the regional level of competition. Winners in these categories will be notified by Monday, October 28. Students who meet the deadline with a complete student entry form and digital submission will be entered into a drawing for a gift card!
Please direct any questions to the Reflections email address.
