Summer Learning Opportunities

Norcross High School Credit Recovery

Credit Recovery is a program that offers students the opportunity to retake a previously failed course required for high school graduation and earn credit if the student successfully completes the course requirements. In order to qualify for enrollment in a credit recovery class, a student must have previously taken the standard, traditional course and should have earned a minimum final grade of 50-69%.

We will be offering 4 sessions of Credit Recovery at Norcross High School. 

If you are eligible for credit recovery and summer school, we ask that you only register for one format per course. Please ensure your dates do not conflict if you are registering for more than one opportunity.

Dates:
Session 1: May 28th – May 31st    AM 7am-11am   PM 11:30am-3:30pm

Session 2: June 11th-June 14th    AM: 7am-11am  PM 11:30am-3:30pm

Session 3: June 17th-June 21st     AM: 7am-11am  PM 11:30am-3:30pm (June 19th is a holiday)

Session 4: June 25th-June 28th     AM: 7am-11am  PM 11:30am-3:30pm

Registration documents and information were mailed home to the address we have on file. Please return all forms by May 1st.

We will hold a mandatory parent meeting via Zoom on Thursday, May 23rd at 1PM. Access the meeting via this link.

GCPS Summer School

GCPS will offer face-to-face instruction at Meadowcreek High School and online instruction at Gwinnett Online Campus for Norcross HS students needing to take a course they have previously failed. Courses will be free for qualifying students at a first come, first serve basis. Students may take a maximum of two courses in summer school. 

Transportation will be available for students taking two courses at Meadowcreek HS. First come, first serve. Complete transportation forms are due to the Counseling Office by May 1st.

It is the parent's responsibility to register for all courses in MyPayments Plus under Summer School Course Previously Failed – Meadowcreek High School or Gwinnett Online Campus. If you do not register for the correct course(s), your registration will be canceled, and you will need to re-register in My Payments Plus. If you need help registering in My Payments Plus, please refer to the help guide below.

Please note: The online learning format can be challenging. Students are required to be self-disciplined and able to work independently without face-to-face instruction. Technology will not be provided and courses cannot be accessed outside of the country. Students are expected to log in to the online course every day to complete assignments. Face to Face (Meadowcreek HS) will be held June 10 - July 3 (Registration window: April 1-May 23)

Online (Gwinnett Online Campus) will be held June 3-June 28 (Registration window: Now-May 24)
